Dear Conservatives,

The President and some in the U.S. Congress want us to believe that U.S. involvement in Syria is solely about the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime.

But, as is so often the case in the Middle East, the reality is not that simple – as you’ll see when you watch the riveting news story below about Turkey supporting jihadists who are going to Syria.

Whacking a hornet’s nest with a stick – even just one time – usually ends up causing a lot of unnecessary pain. We need to avoid that strategy in Syria. We don’t need to be dragged into their civil war where our enemies are fighting our enemies.

As I’ve heard lately from many Members of Congress – on BOTH SIDES of the aisle – their constituents are overwhelmingly OPPOSED to the passage of a resolution allowing the U.S. military to use force as a response to the Assad regime’s reported use of chemical weapons.

In a recent article by Congressional Quarterly, Texas Republican Rep. John Culberson reported that his constituents have been very clear about how they feel about U.S. involvement in Syria, stating “out of hundreds of calls, about 96 percent are opposed.” And adding, “I’ve talked to Democrats and Republicans and they’re getting the same response from their constituents.”

This is a critical time in the U.S. Congress and for our nation. It is vitally important that the grassroots do all they can to stop any U.S. action in Syria at this time.
