PETITION TO DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW!

54% of the Public Opposes ObamaCare
Congress Should Use Its Power of the Purse
To Defund ObamaCare NOW!

According to a new CNN/ORC Internationalpoll released Monday, a majority of Americans still oppose the Affordable Care Act—ObamaCare—President Barack Obama's signature health care reform law.
The poll shows that 54 percent of respondents oppose Obamacare.
Tell Congress to use its power of the purse to
DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW!
Republicans, who overwhelmingly oppose ObamaCare, control the U.S. House of Representatives.  All the House needs to do to put a stake through the heart of ObamaCare is simply refuse to appropriate funds that are essential to operating the national takeover of health care, and its implementation will grind to a halt.

If the House refuses to appropriate critical funds for the implementation of ObamaCare, there is nothing the Democrat-controlled Senate or the Obama White House can do to fund it.  The House is in the catbird seat, and unlike its earlier symbolic efforts to outright REPEAL ObamaCare, defunding it does not require the Senate to pass and the president to sign legislation.  And, given the majority of the American people oppose ObamaCare, they will not tolerate any effort by the U.S. Senate or President Obama tohold Social Security or defense spending or interest on the national debt hostagein an effort to force the House to fund ObamaCare.
Let’s go over a little background.  Everyone has known from the beginning that the Mainstream Media has been in the tank for ObamaCare.  Yet now the MSM is not even being subtle about its bias.  A recent article in Politico, a Washington, D.C. newspaper distributed free on Capitol Hill, pronounced ObamaCare “impossible to repeal” and ridiculed efforts to do so as mere campaign stunts by Republican congressional candidates.  (Politico is owned by Allbritton Communications, which in turn owns television stations in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere, all of which are affiliated with the Disney-owned ABC network.)  The average American watching House Republicans beat their head against the repeal wall 37 times without success must surely conclude there is something to Politico’s narrative.
Yet, those same average Americans are deeply conflicted because most of them also recognize another truth: The pending national takeover of healthcare, which hangs over the nation like the sword of Damocles, cannot work if implemented and will fail if the Washington Establishment insists on trying to implement it.
That said, ObamaCare won’t die a peaceful death, either.  It will bring the whole house of cards down with it.  If Washington politicians continue funding ObamaCare, it will destroy the American healthcare system, drive the nation closer to bankruptcy and leave patients sicker and poorer to boot.  The healthcare rationing ObamaCare will impose will put millions of senior citizens out in the cold and into an early grave.
No wonder the Washington Establishment is circling the wagons around ObamaCare, trying to divert attention away from its inevitable failure.  They seek to capture the public’s attention by ridiculing and parodying hapless Republicans as partisan clowns.  If people are laughing at Republicans, they aren’t likely to look to them for real solutions.  At some point, people will simply resign themselves to hope and change—hoping ObamaCare won’t be the calamity they know in their hearts it will be and changing their focus from repealing ObamaCare to learning how to live with it.
The only sensible thing to do, therefore, is to defund ObamaCare now and repeal it altogether when the circumstances are propitious to do so.  The time for talk and symbolic repeal stunts is over.
The time for serious action to defund ObamaCare is now.
Tell Congress to use its power of the purse to
DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW!
Let’s cut to the chase.  ObamaCare could be defunded this year if Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives, who claim to oppose ObamaCare, would find the gumption to simply not appropriate funds to implement it.  Simple, end of story.
So, why hasn’t the Republican-controlled House of Representatives already defunded ObamaCare before it sinks its tendrils any deeper into our lives?  That’s simple too:They lack the courage of their rhetoric.   RHINO Republicans mired in the status quo prattle on about technical reasons ObamaCare comprises “mandatory spending,” that cannot easily be cut.  In fact, the House has it fully within its powers to refuse to appropriate discretionary funds that are essential to implementing ObamaCare.
There is no lack of defunding opportunities. HHS and the IRS will need substantial discretionary appropriations just to implement the thousands of pages of regulations and the healthcare exchanges.  According to the Congressional Research Service, the agencies implementing the program “will incur substantial administrative costs to implement the law’s private insurance reforms and its changes to the federal health care programs.”
Too many Republicans just talk, talk, talk about repealing ObamaCare, which they cannot do right now so ObamaCare just keeps rolling along.  But, they refuse to defund ObamaCare, which they could do immediately if they had the courage of their rhetoric.
It is time for the U.S. House of Representatives to stop talking and start defunding the implementation of ObamaCare.  The first place to start the defunding process is with the House Financial Services Appropriations Bill, which appropriates discretionary funds for IRS operations. Additionally, a simple rider to the appropriations bill would suffice to prevent the IRS from receiving transfers of funds from the Department of Health and Human Services to implement the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The IRS already has disgraced itself and the nation by becoming a political arm of the Obama White House with its illegal attack on conservative advocacy groups.
Can you imagine what will happen when the IRS gets its hands on the most private medical records of every American?
For the last 20 years or so, many Americans have become apathetic about IRS abuses because so many of them have been taken off the income tax rolls.  For many Americans, IRS abuse doesn’t affect them directly.  But that will change once the IRS begins to implement ObamaCare.
The IRS will now be in EVERYONE’S life.  If you have any question about what life for ordinary people will be like with the IRS as chief enforcer of ObamaCare, just consider this fact: The woman who was in charge of the tax exempt division at the IRS while it was targeting conservative groups, one Sarah Hall Ingram, is now leading the IRS' ObamaCare Enforcement division.  And, believe it or not, Obama is preparing to name a White House staffer, Daniel Werfel, as the new acting IRS Commissioner.
The Obama Administration knows no bounds in the extremes it will go to gain political advantage, and it has demonstrated it will use the IRS to harass and persecute Americans the president considers his political enemies.  The only way to stop the IRS thuggery is to defund it.  And the place to start is with ObamaCare.
Here is the language that would prevent the IRS from implementing ObamaCare:
SEC. ___ . PROHIBITION ON FUNDING.
None of the funds made available in this Act may be used—
            (1) to carry out any provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111–148) or title I or subtitle B of title II of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Public Law 111–152), or the amendments made by such Act, title, or subtitle; or
            (2) for rulemaking under such Act, title, or subtitle.
Additionally, there is another opportunity to defund the Patient Protection Act in the HHS-Labor appropriations bill by using similar language to deny HHS the authority to spend money to operate the health insurance exchanges, a critical component of ObamaCare.
It is time for House Republicans to hold fast:No Funds For ObamaCare.
Tell Congress to use its power of the purse to
DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW!
Remember the famous Bob Russell lyric from the Billie Holliday song Crazy He Calls Me:“The difficult I’ll do right now; the impossible will take a little while.”
We can win this battle to save the American healthcare system but only if people like youpitch in with your voice and with your dollarsto support the cause.  We can stop ObamaCare.  We can do the difficult and defund it now, and we can do the impossible and repeal it in a little while.
But we can’t rely on the Washington politicians to do it.  We must push them, and cajole them and threaten to throw them out of Congress if they don’t stand up and do the right thing.   This is your democracy but democracy is more, much more than just voting for a bunch of politicians.  We’ve got to keep the heat on them to do the right thing.
The Social Security Institute has been on the front lines opposing ObamaCare since the President first proposed the idea. Throughout 2009, I was on the road all across America on behalf of SSI explaining what ObamaCare would mean for the American healthcare system, especially how it would affect senior citizens.  I wrote article after article warning of the dangers of ObamaCare, and I spent many hours in consultation with Members of Congress.  After ObamaCare became law, SSI filed two Amicus Curiae briefs against the law with the Supreme Court.  And now, SSI is doing everything possible to convince Members of the House to defund and repeal ObamaCare.
With your help, the difficult task of defunding ObamaCare we’ll do right now, this year; the “impossible” job of repealing ObamaCare will take a little while but with your loyalty and continued assistance that too can be accomplished.
Tell Congress to use its power of the purse to
DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW!
Sincerely,

P.S. We know we can't count on the politicians, the wheelers and dealers in Washignton, DC to do the right thing, unless me make them do it. Join me to show Congress we know there is an easy, practical, realistic way to STOP ObamaCare, by defunding it now. Pleasesign the petition and consider a donation to help us keep the pressure on until ObamaCare is finally gone.
