Dear Conservative Friends,
Late Thursday afternoon, the Assembly Republican Caucus - made up of all 15 Republican members of the Nevada State Assembly - did something very rare and rather bold...
They told five of their colleagues in the Nevada State Senate to pound sand and take a flying leap!
Well, not exactly in those words, but certainly in that spirit.
Click here to read the actual releaese.
While the verbiage may seem mild, make no mistake, such a direct, public rebuke of legilsative colleagues from the same party is almost unheard of!
The issue is this insane proposal announced this week by rogue "Republican" Senate Minority Leader Mike Roberson and five of his underlings - Sens. Ben Kieckhefer, Greg Brower, Scott Hammond, Joe Hardy and Mark Hutchison (The Dirty Half-Dozen Gang) - to raise the mining tax by some $600 million (in what would be the third largest tax hike in the state's history!) and use that money to hire 4,000 new teachers whose union dues would then be used to defeat conservative Republican candidates and real education reform.
Our friend and taxpayer champion Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform refers to Republicans who vote to raise taxes as "ratheads in a Coke bottle" because they ruin the "brand" for every other Republican and confuse voters and young children as to exactly what the GOP stands for.
I almost hate to put it in such stark terms, but there's no escaping the reality of this situation:
If the Dirty Half-Dozen Gang continues down this path behind the "leadership" of "Moderate Mike" Roberson, they will be indeed be the political equivalent of ratheads in a Coke bottle...
Roberson is hopeless. The guy has gone over to the dark side, much like Luke Skywalker's father. He's on what was known in the 1960's as a "power trip" and is lapping up and basking in the adulation he's getting from the liberal media.
But hopefully there's still a chance that the other five GOP senators who are pushing this massive tax hike will come to their senses and get with the program.
If you think Republican legislators shouldn't support a $600 million tax hike on the mining industry to hire 4,000 anti-Republican teachers union members, please email them at the addresses below and urge them to throw Roberson under the bus and back off this insane proposal.

Don't be belligerent. Don't make threats. Just tell 'em to knock it off. If they feel the heat and see the light, fine. If not...well, we'll burn that bridge when we come to it a little later!
Conservatively yours,
