HORSFORD SHARES HIS “DEEP” THOUGHTS ON SOCIAL SECURITY
And the twits just keep on comin’.
Democrat congressional candidate Steven Horsford (D-Affirmative Action) hurled up another content-free tweet on Tuesday in his never-ending assault on the intelligence of coveted voter blocs. This one was another aimed at senior citizens:
“Social Sec makes retirement possible 4 400,000+ NV srs & in Congress I'll protect it & stop efforts 2 gamble savings in risky markets.”
Ah, ever the master of the obvious and purveyor of thought over deed.
Yes, Social Security is a retirement support program for hundreds of thousands of Nevadans. Duh.
But what Mr. Horsford neglected to mention is that the system is going broke. How soon is a matter of disagreement. But no sentient human being – especially with the onslaught of retirements coming courtesy of us Baby Boomers - would suggest the system can sustain itself without a massive overhaul of some kind.
So, Mr. Horsford…exactly what would you DO to “protect” Social Security? Or are you one of those who denies that Social Security is sliding down a razor blade of doom? Talk is cheap; what’s your proposal?
And by the way, when you say you’ll “stop efforts to gamble savings in risky markets,” are you saying people are too stupid to invest their own money in their own retirement accounts; that only the government can be trusted to make these decisions “for the people”? Is that really what you’re saying? Inquiring minds wanna know.
WHAT DANNY TARKANIAN ACTUALLY SAID
Thanks to Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun, you can read GOP congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian’s actual and full comments, in context, that caused his Democrat opponent, Steven Horsford, to have a meltdown and play the race card (yet again). Here’s exactly what Tarkanian said:
I know we’ve got them really scared. And I’m talking about the Democrat Party and Horsford. They are so scared that yesterday I had an interview with the Review-Journal and in the interview with the Review-Journal they asked, “Well, why do you think you can win?”
And I said hey, we’re going to go after every single vote in our district. We’re not going to give Horsford one easy vote. We’re going to go after (unintelligible) as well as the African American community. (Unintelligible) We’ve done a lot of good things for them. Does anybody dispute that?
Well you know I also said that I have this basketball academy, a non-profit group, right next to my district where a lot of people who live in that district have attended (unintelligible) And I have the NAACP endorsement. (Unintelligable) So you know what they do? The Democrats?
They sent out all these Tweets in minutes with all these black Democrats, state legislators and they said Danny Tarkanian made a racist comment (unintelligible)Channel 8 we had a TV series and they said “making a racist comment” but they didn’t know what the racist comment was. I’m still trying to figure out what it was.
Should we not work within the black community? We could be like Steven Horsford who’s not doing anything with that community and, you know, pretend we’re black and maybe try to get some votes if that’s where it is. You know, it’s that extent that they’ve gone to.
How many years have we been hearing the complaint that Republicans don’t campaign in black districts? So here we have a white Republican promising to compete for “every single vote” in a black district and that’s somehow…racist? Gimme a break.
OBAMA SUPPORTS REVERSE-DISCRIMINATION
From Politico on Tuesday:
“The Obama Administration on Monday urged the Supreme Court to uphold the use of race in the University of Texas’s college admissions process, saying the controversial practice advances an essential government interest.”
I would say we should ask Democrat congressional candidate Steven Horsford, himself the beneficiary of affirmative action politics, if he supports President Obama’s support for reverse discrimination; however, Sen. Horsford’s position is already pretty obvious on this point.
POLITICAL POTPOURRI
* If the successful business owner “didn’t build that” without government, then doesn’t it logically follow that when a business goes under, it’s the government’s fault?
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“You know, not too long ago, I was asked to explain the difference between a small businessman and a big businessman. And my answer was that a big businessman is what a small businessman would be if only the government would get out of the way and leave him alone.” – Ronald Reagan
