NEVADA - NORTH LAS VEGAS NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE

Dear Concerned Citizens,

The city of North Las Vegas is currently on the brink of bankruptcy. One of the reasons it is in this situation is the bloated union contracts and wages that they currently pay to their public employees. Simply put, government workers should not have lavish pensions and benefits out of line with the private sector taxpayers who pay the tab.

Help save North Las Vegas by contacting your lawmakers here and urging them to protect the financial longevity of the city!

Did you know in North Las Vegas:

1. $8.00 out of every $10.00 is spent on public employee pay and benefits.

2. Less than $2.00 of every $10.00 spent goes towards services and supplies.

3.  North Las Vegas public employees are among the most generously compensated employees in the in the nation:

  • Entry Level salaries for Police Sergeant and Lieutenant are 22% higher than the market average
  • Guaranteed cost of living raises totaling more than 20% over 5 years for Police
  • Guaranteed cost of living raises totaling more than 22% over the next 6 years for Fire
  • Guaranteed annual raises, cost of living, uniform allowance
4.  The overall wage gap for Nevada public employees compared to private sector counterparts are one of the highest in the nation.
AFP-Nevada is urging public employee unions to come to the negotiating table and make meaningful concessions to improve the long term financial health of the City of North Las Vegas. Take action today!

Best,
