GROVER NORQUIST ON TAX REFORM AND DEMOCRAT'S LIES

Submitted by: Grover Norquist

Dear Friends,
As the year comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of Americans for Tax Reform’s work helping to educate taxpayers about the important battle for limited government and fiscal responsibility inWashington.
The UK Guardian ran an opinion piece by me, where I discuss the importance of the 2012 election and ask the central question surrounding it: do we want a failed European welfare state or a return to a true America?Click here to read the article.

I recently appeared on Meet the Press to discuss the importance of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and the issue of taxes for Americans. I pointed out that Democrats have never been serious about cutting spending. Their talks of compromise are simply to distract activists like you from focusing on the real problem in Washington: overspending. A number of conservative leaders including myself also penned an opinion piece for Politico on this point entitled: "The Answer Is: Spend less. Period."

Gas Prices are on the Rise, Tell Washington ENOUGH is ENOUGH

In late November, Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes sat down with me to discuss the mission of Americans for Tax Reform and our flagship project: the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. During the interview, we also covered a wide range of topics including taxes, elections, the Republican Party, the role of government, and the super committee negotiations. I encourage you to check out the interview if you haven’t already.
By holding members of Congress who sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge accountable for their promise not to raise taxes, voters continue to be an important part of the ongoing budget battle and the fight for true tax reform. I appeared on the Fox Business Network to talk about how the Pledge will continue to be a VITAL part of this fight. Click here to watch the video.
As Christmas fast approaches, can Americans for Tax Reform count on your support in the fight to rein in Washington’s addiction to overspending? With a contribution of $10, $25, $50, $100, or more, you will help us hold the line against liberals in Washington who have one goal: raising your taxes. As an added bonus, any gift of $25 or more will come with a free signed copy of my book, Leave Us Alone: Getting the Government’s Hands Off Our Money, Our Guns, Our Lives. This would be an ideal gift for family, friends, and especially your tax and spend liberal neighbors. E-mail ideas@atr.org if you would like to have the book made out to someone special.
Onwards,
Grover G. Norquist
President
Americans for Tax Reform
