Dear Friend, Our district never ceases to make me proud. Our constituents are generous, kind, and talented. Here are a few good news stories about some exceptional constituents. | 10-year-old Daniel “Cooper” Thomas of Ocala started by opening doors for people at restaurants when he was only five years old. The people he did the acts for were quick to tip acts of kindness. Four years later, Cooper encountered a homeless man with a sign asking for money. After giving the man five dollars, he felt inspired to do more for his community and bring back his good deeds. Great job! Read more here. | Panama City Beach Police Department Officer Shy’Keya Wimberly recently won five gold medals in The 2022 Police and Fire Championship in California. Wimberly came in first in the 4X100 meter, 100-meter hurdle, 400 hurdles, 200-meter race, and 800 relay medley. She also set the track record in the 400-meter hurdle. Shy’Keya ran track at Florida State University before joining the force. Congratulations, Shy’Keya! Read more here. | Hundreds of people came together in Tallahassee last weekend to support their local farmers. Feeling the impacts of COVID-19 and rising inflation, support is exactly what these local farmers need. The Red Hills Farm Alliance’s annual tomato festival helps fund the services provided for farmers. When COVID-19 shut down farmers’ markets, it cut out a large portion of many small farmers’ income.
