On Tuesday, I joined Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) and our colleagues in sending a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) pledging to oppose any funding bill that would undermine the historically bipartisan Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding for abortions, or any other pro-life protections. On Tuesday, I sent a letter to Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Scott Nathan regarding the DFC’s use of taxpayer funds to bankroll international projects focused on climate change and gender equity instead of facilitating its congressionally-mandated mission of advancing the United States’ development and foreign policy goals.
