Dear Friend, This week, I visited the east side of Florida’s Second Congressional District, and WOW, our district is beautiful. Between the pines, the sunshine, and the farmland, it’s hard not to be proud. Here are a few stories that will fill you with a deeper sense of pride -- | A brand-new welding facility has opened its doors for high school students in Franklin County. The 4,300 square foot facility has state-of-the-art resources, 15 welding bays as well as virtual technology welding. So far 45 students have enrolled in the program in the past three years. This is an exciting opportunity for the students and will open a lot of doors for them after graduation. Read more here. | Liberty County Sheriff Buddy Money announced the addition of the first Law Enforcement Investigative Therapy K-9 in the Big Bend area. Anna, a 2-year-old Blue Heeler mix, can be "utilized to reduce anxiety during stressful events, de-escalate tense situations and open up avenues for communication with persons in crisis." Anna will be an excellent addition to the team. Read more here. | More than 40 people in Tallahassee donated Easter baskets filled with goodies to the HOPE Program to ensure children in need have a memorable Easter. More than 150 Easter Baskets were made and given to a total of three non-profit organizations including Boys Town of North Florida and Hang Tough Foundation. Thank you to everyone involved!
