NEWS FROM THE SECOND DISTRICT
Dear Friend,This week, the House completed the second week of impeachment hearings. Democrats continue to occupy their time with this impeachment scam. They prove that they are not committed to or in touch with the real needs of the American people. Despite this partisan distraction they are creating, I remain hard at work to serve you.
Please read about my week below:Visit with Swift Creek Middle School Students Students from Swift Creek Middle School traveled to Washington D.C. from Tallahassee this week. I had a great time meeting with them and discussing my experiences as their Representative. Many thanks to our teachers and parents who support our students' learning about our government and the legislative process. I always welcome the opportunity to spend time with the future leaders of our community. Honoring Judge David Taunton [Click the photo to watch my remarks]
On Thursday, I spoke on the House Floor to honor the life of Judge David Taunton. Judge Taunton was the longest serving judge in Gulf County. He will be remembered for his dedication to providing our children with a home and a second chance. He and his wife opened the Taunton Family Children's Home and took in over 400 children during its operation. Our community was made better by Judge Taunton not just through the care and mentorship he provided, but through his service as a logger, school principal, pastor, and newspaper editor. His legacy lives on and inspires us to care for and invest in our community's children and the brightness of their future.
Continuing our Rebuild Our communities are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Michael. The Air Force and Coast Guard face specific challenges when attempting to rebuild their bases and operations. On Tuesday, I hosted a roundtable with Mr. Brent Hyden with the Air Force and Rear Admiral Doug Schofield with the Coast Guard. We discussed the future of AF and Coast Guard projects in the district and challenges the two services expect in the coming years. We also discussed different ways we could do more to help mitigate future challenges. Thank you, Mr. Hyden and Rear Admiral Schofield for a great discussion.Thank you for your continued energy and enthusiasm, as reflected in your letters and Facebook posts. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in Congress!
Sincerely,
Dr. Neal Dunn Member of Congress

Constituent Casework Corner
After being told by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) their 2018 tax return had been selected for an audit, a constituent contacted my office when they still had not received their refund 8 months later. My office was able to work with the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) to determine the IRS had been waiting on requested documents to finish their audit. We were able to provide TAS the requested documents allowing the IRS to finish their audit and release the constituent’s tax refund. Do you need help with a federal agency?
