NEWS FROM THE SECOND DISTRICT

Dear Friend,
This week, House Democrats forced a partisan impeachment inquiry vote against President Trump and signaled that they are full steam ahead with this witch hunt. We also learned of the successful raid that brought ISIS terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to justice and honored our first responders. Please read about my week below:

Impeachment UpdateImage
This week, House Democrats forced a vote to "formalize" the impeachment inquiry against President Trump. The resolution passed the House without a single Republican vote. This vote was more political theatre, as Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats tried to backtrack and validate the tainted process of their partisan witch hunt against President Trump. Their goal has been impeachment since November 9, 2016. They want to undo the election. The reason they haven’t presented any evidence is that they have none. This ‘Soviet style justice’ is an insult to our democracy. This investigation would not stand up in any court in the United States and should not stand up in the House of Representatives.

Bringing Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to JusticeImage
This past week, we learned that under President Trump's command, U.S. Special Operations Forces successfully conducted a raid on an ISIS compound in Syria. During the raid, known terrorist and ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi detonated a bomb, killing himself and also tragically killing three of his children. The death of al-Baghdadi is a big win for America and for all those fighting terrorism. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was one of the worst terrorists in the world. His death sends a message that the United States will continue to fight terrorism around the world until all ISIS terrorists are brought to justice.
Honoring First RespondersOn Monday, we celebrated National First Responders Day. A day to honor the first responders across our nation who run into danger every day to keep us safe. In the days and weeks after Hurricane Michael, our firefighters, law enforcement, and paramedics worked tirelessly to aid those in our devastated communities. Every day across the Second District these heroes put on their uniforms and go to work, never knowing what the day might bring, but always willing to give it their all to protect us. Thank you for your dedication and service. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for your continued energy and enthusiasm, as reflected in your letters and Facebook posts. If you haven’t already, LIKE my Facebook page. You can also follow me on Twitter @DrNealDunnFL2.

Constituent Casework CornerWhen the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stopped releasing the funds for their temporary housing assistance under the approved Individual and Households Program (IHP), the constituent contacted my office. We were able to work with FEMA to determine the form the constituent needed to complete was never sent to them. My office submitted the completed form on behalf of the constituent and they were approved for continued temporary housing assistance.
