MUTH'S TRUTHS 09/05/2019

The Wal-Mart Effect

I’m old enough to remember the grasping at pearls and gnashing of teeth over Wal-Mart moving into communities and putting mom-and-pop shops out of business.  But the retail giant's anti-gun decision this week is gonna have the opposite effect.

And that’s a good thing.

“I think it should increase our sales on handgun ammo,” Mark Hames, owner of the 2nd Amendment Guns & Accessories store in Las Vegas, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an interview.  “We already do pretty good business in handgun ammunition anyways, so it should just help us in the long run.”

To be sure, Wal-Mart is a private company and is perfectly within its rights to surrender to the gun-grabber lobby and drop gun sales from its stores.

That said, gun owners and gun rights advocates are also within their rights should they decide to boycott Wal-Mart and choose not to shop for anything else there, as well.

Gotta love the free market!

Not So Swift

Pop star Taylor Swift suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome and supports people who enter the United States illegally.

So why was a guy who broke into her beachfront mansion in Rhode Island arrested this week for trespassing?  Shouldn’t he have been allowed to simply move in?  I’m sure Swift will be consistent and not press charges, right?  Yeah, right.

Electing New Nevada GOP Pooh-Bah

In case you missed it, I am NOT supporting the re-election of Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald this weekend at the party’s meeting in Winnemucca.

It’s not personal; it’s business.  If you missed my detailed explanation, read this…

And by the way, in response to my friend Rob Tyree’s tweet this morning in which he asks: “I guess these (Slanker) guys should be blacklisted for life, regardless of what skills the have?”…

The answer is no.  Not because of the skills they “have,” but the skills they DON’T have.  See this prime example…

Black is the New Red

The candidate I’m supporting to be the new Nevada GOP chair is Mesquite Women’s Club president Annie Black.

You can learn more about her and her plans for rebuilding the party by clicking here.

To turn Nevada red, bet on black – Annie Black!

Getting Personal

You would think Chairman McDonald’s re-election as an incumbent with support from RINO-whisperer consultant Mike “Sleazy” Slanker and the Republican National Committee (RNC) would be a lock.

But stranger things have happened.  And the McDonald camp is clearly worried.

Indeed, some of his panicked supporters have resorted to deeply personal and insulting attacks on social media against Black.  Here’s one from a McDonald supporter in Las Vegas…

“The last time I saw Annie Black at the Clark GOP's Board Meeting, she had a dress on that had to be one of the most unprofessional things I have seen in a long time.  Annie, they have classes and books on how to dress for success. Based on what you wore to the last meeting, you clearly missed that. Skirts are supposed to come just above the knee. They aren't supposed to be mid-thigh! If you cannot dress yourself properly, then how can you lead the NVGOP?”

And here’s another from a McDonald supporter in Douglas County…

“Apparently this teeniebopper twit thinks attacking people is how we win elections. What a sad, bitter person.  Little Bitter Annie…has no idea about the buzzsaw she is walking into this coming Saturday. She’ll be forced to answer questions and facts will be in the room. No crying allowed Little Angry Annie.”

Seriously?  Somebody’s scared!

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“I could not agree more with you about Mike Slanker. You nailed it!!  When I was with (Congressman Jon) Porter I had to deal with him. Never met a more self-serving guy in my life.” – Name withheld to protect the innocent
