Jerome Corsi, the birther
<https://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/tom-delay-working-on-book-with-noted-birth
er>  who in recent years has been most regularly referenced as an associate
of GOP provocateur Roger Stone, has propelled himself to household-name
status in recent days; a brand of fame that his former Infowars Washington
bureau chief title was never able to bring him.

And the longtime conspiracy theorist deserves to be finally taken seriously.
He predicted - based on sheer political savvy and literally nothing else -
that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange would hack Clinton campaign manager
John Podesta's emails and release them during the 2016 election, after all!
Allegedly in the crosshairs of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe this
last month, Corsi's relevance has truly skyrocketed in recent days, as
federal prosecutors look into whether Corsi was truthful in interviews about
his psychic abilities or if he somehow knew about the Podesta email
arrangement in advance, as new emails with Stone might (clearly) suggest.

Facing a "perjury trap" and the prospects of going to "prison for the rest
of my life because I dared to oppose the deep state," Corsi has handled the
turmoil of his impending indictment with poise on par with Queen Elizabeth.
He humbled himself before the masses in a Nov. 12  YouTube broadcast
<https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/jerome-corsi-claims-indictment-expe
cted>  to solicit donations for his legal defense fund and has generously
supplied select media outlets with copies of his upcoming book about his
political imprisonment, simply to help reporters! Not as a publicity plug!
That poise carried over into cable news interviews as well this week, when
he made nothing but sound arguments about his predicament. Like when he told
Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Tuesday the Mueller investigation is "completely
rigged" and driven by "Clinton operatives" who are out to get him. Makes
sense

After spending at least 40 hours of his precious time speaking to Mueller's
team over the last three months, Corsi expects he will be charged with "some
form or other of lying" and has told the media that a possible plea deal was
in the works, but he refused it due to his crystal clear innocence.
"They want me to say I willfully lied," he reportedly told

>  NBC. "I'm not going to agree that I lied. I
did not. I will not lie to save my life. I'd rather sit in prison and rot
for as long as these thugs want me to."
For handling his impending jail time with grace, remaining fiercely
defensive of his ability to predict Assange's every move and definitely not
using his status as a martyr to make a few book bucks, Jerome Corsi is our
Duke of the Week.
