Heck of a Week: May 20
This Ely student had
an honorable
week. These Nevada National Guardsmen had a homecoming
week. This is Heck of a Week.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that Joe will be in Reno this Sunday for the grand opening of his new campaign office and you’re invited. Joe told the RGJ, “Northern Nevada and especially Washoe County have a big opportunity to make their voices heard this primary and general election and our Reno office underscores that. I want Northern Nevadans to know as a veteran and a brigadier general in the Army Reserve, I’ve got your back. My Reno office is your office. And together we’re going to build a stronger Nevada.”
Enjoy light refreshments, meet Dr. Joe
Heck, listen to some great speakers, and talk to fellow supporters! Registration through EventBrite is required: bit.ly/heckreno
**Dr. Joe Heck: Those who
serve are ‘most valuable asset in our military’**
On the eve of Armed Forces Day, May 21, 2016, Iraq veteran, brigadier general
in the Army Reserve, and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Joe Heck released the following statement: “Since 1950, on the third Saturday
in May, Nevadans across the Silver State join our fellow Americans to
celebrate Armed Forces Day, when we honor the brave men and women who
currently serve in the five U.S. military branches – the Army, Navy,
Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard."
“This day is a recognition of a simple truth — that those who volunteer to serve, more than any
piece of technology or equipment, are the most valuable asset in our military. Therefore,
it is only fitting that the U.S. House this week
passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) — the legislation
that funds our Armed Forces. As chairman of the House Armed Services
Military Personnel Subcommittee, I have the awesome responsibility of seeing that our warfighters, retirees and their families receive
the funding, care and support they need, deserve and earned."
