Victory: Senate To Vote On USA Freedom Act In a remarkable turnaround Senate Republicans agreed last night, to debate The USA Freedom Act, a bill that would overhaul the National Security Agency's handling of Americans' calling records while preserving (and perhaps improving) other domestic surveillance provisions. To those of you who send Blast Faxes and made phone calls to the Senate, thank you. We asked the Senate to jettison an extension of the Patriot Act and allow debate and a fair-up-or-down vote on that USA Freedom Act and that's exactly what the Senate is going to do thanks to your willingness to speak up and make your voice heard.
