RedState Briefing 04/08/2014

Morning Briefing
For April 8, 2014

Among those strongly interested in politics in America right now, the GOP leads by 14 percentage points on the question of who should control Congress. Among the electorate as a whole, the GOP and Democrats are largely tied. But the electorate as a whole does not vote, particularly in midterms.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Hey Baseball Fans!
Attention baseball fans: I just wanted to let you know that long time RedState contributor Leon Wolf, along with a number of other good writers, has started a daily baseball newsletter called “Just a Bit Outside” which will keep you informed on all the happenings in Major League Baseball. It’s no secret that most sports writers are even more liberal than their mainstream media counterparts, so give some guys who will cover baseball without the liberal bias a try.

To subscribe, click here. RedState readers will get four free weeks of the newsletter by using the promo code FIRSTFOURWEEKS at checkout.

If you want to see a sample of one of their first issues, you can read it here. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Media Company Rejects RNC Press Release Because They Are Democrats

Issa: IRS Did Not Challenge Liberal Groups Tax Exempt Status
When the crap first hit the fan about the IRS auditing conservative political groups, particularly those with “Tea Party” in their names, the first defense, after “it didn’t happen” was that it happened to left wing groups as well. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

The Greatest Story Never Told

Take all that out and Noah was still a pretty pathetic movie. There’s been a 61% drop off in viewership. And that disappoints me. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Mozilla
The old story is familiar. It is one of the stories I remember my grandmother reading me in her chair — the chair from which I now read the same stories to my children. She had the Golden Children’s Bible, with the old, beautiful illustrations. Daniel in the Lion’s Den was my favorite. It was two stories past Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

The Vine
Since the Roe v. Wade decision, generations have fought in the war against abortion. Now, 41 years later, activists are spread across the country working on every aspect of the fight for life. From college campuses to Congress, opportunities abound to join the effort. However, for the uninitiated, it can be confusing to know where to start. And for those whose daily focus lay elsewhere, it can be hard to keep up. This is what has prompted me to launch The Vine. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
