Dear Conservatives,
$1.79 per gallon.
That was the average price of gasoline at pumps all across the country on January 20, 2009 -- the day President Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.
Five years and a VW bus-full of new EPA regulations later, the price of a gallon of gasoline has nearly DOUBLED in price.
But while you’re feeling the pinch, President Obama’s radical environmentalist cronies -- like George Soros and Al Gore -- are rolling in the dough.
Now, they’re DEMANDING President Obama halt the Keystone XL Pipeline Project now that it’s on the very verge of being finalized.
Without your action today, I’m afraid they may just get their way -- and Americans will continue to pay the price.
So won’t you please sign your Keystone XL Pipeline “BUILD IT NOW!” petitions right away?
With a decision possibly only weeks away on final approval of this critical underground pipeline, your action TODAY could not be more important.
But before I give you the link to your petition, please let me explain why this is so crucial . . .
The truth is, the decision to approve the underground Keystone XL Pipeline should be a no-brainer.
If approved and built, this pipeline -- buried four feet underground -- would carry approximately 830,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada, North Dakota and Montana to the Gulf of Mexico for refinement.
According to estimates, 91% of that oil would be consumed here in the United States, drastically reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that would likely lower domestic gas prices.
Lower fuel costs alone would be a HUGE boost to our economy.
But studies show approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline would also result in: *** Over 40,000 new high-paying jobs created;
*** $3.4 BILLION in capital investment just in construction spending alone;
*** An overall $20 BILLION boost to our economy.
Not only that, but
in addition to helping lower gas prices -- with over 20,000 data
points and 57 new safety precautions (many over
and
above current regulations) -- this
underground pipeline would be unquestionably the safest ever built.
Even President Obama’s highly-politicized State Department has so far FAILED to conjure up enough environmental fears to kill the project.
In fact, the State Department even admitted this underground pipeline “would have a degree of safety over any other typically constructed domestic oil pipeline system under the current code”
But as one writer in the left-wing magazine The Guardian wrote, their opposition has little to do with “safety” or proven environmental impact, stating:
“The simple fact is this: if Keystone XL is built, it will be easier to exploit fossil fuel reserves . . . A direct pipeline to refineries and global markets makes the business of polluting the atmosphere that much cheaper and easier.”
It’s the “cheaper and easier” part that has President Obama’s crony capitalist investors like Al Gore and George Soros so incensed.
They know lower gas prices would expose their inefficient and high-cost “alternative” energy projects.
The end result could be the end of government-created “profits” for them and their taxpayer-subsidized “green” sham companies like Solyndra.
That’s why they’re willing to do everything possible to KILL this project, and ensure gas prices stay sky-high.
In fact, they’ve tried everything from leveling phony “conflict of interest charges” to organizing angry protests to try and derail this project.
You and I can only guess what else they have up their sleeve.
That’s why your action TODAY is so critical.
After nearly six years since this project was first proposed, you and I are now in the final stages of approval for the Keystone XL Pipeline.
All that has to happen is for the State Department to issue a recommendation and then President Obama will make his decision.
Like you, I’d feel a lot better if this pro-American, pro-taxpayer, pro-energy pipeline wasn’t depending on President Obama’s signature for approval.
But with gas prices still sky-high and so many air-tight safety measures included with the pipeline, President Obama is already finding himself boxed into a corner.
In fact, one international risk consultancy firm recently put the odds at 70% the Keystone XL Pipeline would be approved.
But that’s all based on common sense -- and there just isn’t that much of that right now in Washington, D.C.
That’s why your action TODAY is so critical.
With your help today, I believe we can send the LOUD-AND-CLEAR message to President Obama that REFUSING to approve the underground Keystone XL Pipeline project could effectively cost him the last two years of his presidency.
You see, it’s no secret the 2014 elections are coming like a freight train.
Some political experts are hinting at the possibility of another tidal wave election like 2010.
And many vulnerable Senate Democrats are shaking in their boots in fear of running into a ballot box buzz saw in November 2014.
The LAST thing they want is to start taking heat over this Keystone XL Pipeline Project.
They know there’s no way they can explain why a handful of left-wing crony capitalist investors’ interests should override those of every day hardworking American citizens.
So if National League of Taxpayers is successful with their plan to flood the Oval Office and the U.S. Senate with these signed petitions, President Obama will know he has no choice but to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Or else, he can watch his Senate Majority go up in smoke and the next two years of his Presidency effectively destroyed.
That’s why, when the National League of Taxpayers told me they were preparing to take the lead on this critical project, I couldn’t have been happier.
After all, just bringing up this issue during this critical 2014 election year will put the tax-and-spenders on the defensive.
But it’s going to take sheer grassroots FORCE to break through Washington, D.C.’s logjam and secure approval for the underground Keystone XL Pipeline Project.
So in addition to your signed “BUILD IT NOW!” petitions, I'm hoping you'll also agree to chip in with a donation to the National League of Taxpayers.
With your support, they have a massive plan to force President Obama’s hand on the Keystone XL Pipeline, including:
***
Generating
up to ten MILLION petitions from American citizens in targeted states
to up the heat on President Obama
and force the Keystone XL Pipeline issue to the
forefront of Senate races all over the country;
*** Launching an all-out PR
blitz to explain to the American people how this
underground pipeline could help
lower prices at the pump while ensuring environmental safety;
*** Using email and Internet ads to explain how -- if the Keystone Pipeline is NOT
built -- it would likely shock oil markets and send fuel prices skyrocketing;
*** Paying for hard-hitting TV ads to generate even more pressure on the White House
and U.S. Senate during the final days before the decision.
Such a program isn’t cheap. In
fact, it’s very expensive.But considering everything that’s at stake, I believe it’s well worth it.
So in addition to signing your petition, I’m sincerely hoping you’ll agree to chip in with a generous donation of $10 or $15 to the National League of Taxpayers.
No matter how much you can give, whether it's $25, $15 or $10, know that your donation is needed and appreciated.
With the underground Keystone XL Pipeline now in the final stages of approval, time is running out.
Without your support, I’m afraid it won’t happen . . . and every American will pay a severe price while radical environmentalist investors like Al Gore and George Soros laugh all the way to the bank.
So please sign your “BUILD IT NOW!” petitions to President Obama and your U.S. Senators and agree to your most generous contribution of $25, $15 or even $5 to the National League of Taxpayers IMMEDIATELY!
Sincerely,
Steve Stockman
United States Congressman (R-TX)
P.S. With the underground Keystone XL Pipeline on the verge of being finalized, left-wing investors like Al Gore and George Soros are pulling out all the stops to convince President Obama to derail this project.
Should they succeed, I’m afraid every American will pay a severe price.
The truth is, the underground Keystone XL Pipeline would work to lower gas prices and boost our economy. But if it’s halted, I’m afraid it could shock the oil markets, sending gas prices soaring.
That’s why it’s vital you sign your “BUILD IT NOW!” petitions and if you are able, chip in with a contribution of $25, $15 or $10 IMMEDIATELY.
If the National League of Taxpayers can turn up enough heat on President Obama and the U.S. Senate, I believe we can FORCE President Obama’s hand.
