Deputy Micah McNinch pulled over Wayne Ables after 2 a.m. as he raced his infirmed mother to a hospital just a mile from the site of the stop.
McNinch pulled Ables over for expired tags and kept the pair there while an ambulance and fire truck were en route.
Ables says he told McNinch his mother was in the back seat, suffering from severe breathing problems.
After 11 minutes, the emergency
vehicles arrived. The driver had pleaded with the officer to escort
them to the hospital a mere five minutes away.

6.Oklahoma Immigration Laws
By Jack Ori, eHow Contributor
Immigrants
must prove they have the legal right to work in Oklahoma.
In 2007, Oklahoma passed the
Taxpayer and Citizen Protection
Act. This law requires United States citizens and residents to provide greater
proof that they are legally in the country before beginning employment. It also
attempts to stop illegal immigrants from receiving public assistance and
ensures that only United States citizens vote in state and national elections. Have a question? Get an answer from a lawyer now!
E-Verification
of Employee Status
o
Oklahoma law requires employers to
use e-verification to confirm that newly hired people have the legal right to work
in the United States. If e-verification shows that a worker is an undocumented
immigrant, the employer may not hire that worker.
Verification Documents
Residents of Oklahoma must verify
their United States citizenship prior to voting. Approved documents for
verification include the Oklahoma driver's license, passport, and birth certificate
(if born in the United States). Immigrants may show naturalization papers as
evidence of citizenship.
Public
Assistance
o
Immigrants must show proof that they
have a legal right to be in the United States prior to receiving public
assistance. Non-citizens must have green cards. Public assistance officers may
not accept a driver's license as proof without supporting documentation such as
naturalization papers, a birth certificate or a green card.
