Fellow Conservatives:
The Republican primary election in Nebraska is just 7 weeks away and we
wanted to share a few things with you about Midland University president
Ben Sasse, our conservative choice for U.S. Senate.
On
paper, Ben Sasse (pronounced Sass) is like the other candidates we're
supporting this year. He's a down-the-line conservative who believes the
federal government spends, taxes, and regulates too much.
But Ben Sasse has some exceptional characteristics that led us to
endorse him in a crowded primary field with other candidates who claim
to be conservative.
First, Ben Sasse is an
expert on health care policy and believes patients, not the government,
should control health care decisions.
The federal government has dramatically increased its role in health
care and the outcome of this policy debate over the next several years
will determine what kind of country we leave our children and
grandchildren.
If we want to repeal Obamacare and unwind the mess the government has
made of our health care system, we need leaders like Ben Sasse.
Second, Ben Sasse is passionate about our ideas and how they can solve our nation's biggest problems.
"Democrats passed Obamacare with its fundamentally flawed ideas, but
collectively Republicans failed to fight for good ideas,” says Sasse.
“And bad ideas will beat the perception of no ideas every time.”
He's right and that's why we need more people in the Senate who are
willing to push reforms that will give Americans more freedom and
opportunity.
Third, Ben Sasse is a person of character.
The people who know Ben best will tell you that he's an extremely hard worker and a devoted husband and father.
There
are many examples of his work ethic (getting into Harvard on a
wrestling scholarship, turning Midland University around, etc.), but one
thing that stood out to us was his dedication to his family when his
wife, Melissa, suffered a brain aneurysm that almost took her life seven
years ago.
Each night for at least a month, he would climb into bed with his two
little girls until they fell asleep. Then he would leave them in the
care of his mom and sister and go to the hospital to sleep next to his
wife. He drew upon his faith in God and was a rock for his family during
a very difficult time. It was a life experience that showed Ben's
character and strength.
CHANGE WASHINGTON
The mainstream media wants people to believe that there is no difference
between the Republican candidates in Nebraska, but that's simply
untrue.
Ben Sasse is the right man with the right ideas at the right time.
If we want to keep the federal government from taking over every aspect
of our lives, we need people like Ben Sasse on the job. If we want to
elect citizen legislators who are passionate about our principles and
who keep their word, we need to support Ben Sasse.
Please make a contribution to Ben Sasse's campaign right now.
It doesn't matter where you live. The outcome of this race will affect
you just the same. This is one of the most important Senate races in the
entire country and it's important for conservatives to make their
voices heard.
The polls indicate that Ben Sasse is now in a virtual tie for the lead and there are now just 7 weeks until the May 13th primary. There is no time to waste.
We've put all of our Senate and House candidates in one place where you
can contribute to multiple candidates with one simple transaction.
SCF pays all processing fees so our candidates receive 100% of the funds that you designate for their campaigns.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
