CHRIST'S TWO COMMANDMENTS

Christ’s
TWO Commandments

As Christians we are taught of God having delivered His 10 Commandments to Moses. This is written of in Exodus and is the most important laws/rules man lives by.

Exodus 20:  2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them….
7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy…

12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
 13 "You shall not murder.
14 "You shall not commit adultery.
 15 "You shall not steal.
16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
Jesus Christ spoke and delivered these words in Mark:

Mark 12: 29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these."

If you really think about the words of Jesus you will come to realize that He was not adding to or changing His Father’s Word but was encapsulating what was earlier stated.

Think about it.

If you are naming God as number one in your heart and truly love Him you will not place anyone or anything above Him, you will not curse Him and you will keep His Sabbath as a day of His liking.

It was Jesus that encapsulated what we have learned as the first 4 Commandments into a single Commandment. Jesus was so concise and made His point very clear.

Then in speaking of the second Commandments Jesus encapsulated what we know as Commandments 5 through 10.

If you truly, ‘love thy neighbor as yourself,’ you must know that you would not dishonor your parents by doing anything that would besmirch their name (yours); you would not steal or want anything stolen from you. You would not want to be murdered or to have another sleep with your spouse and you would not want to be lied about. Lastly, you would not want anyone to lust after your belongings, resent you for the person you married so you would not want another to lust after your wife, your belongings or anything you worked so hard to obtain.

In my sermons I do my best to emulate my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as I am as clear in my wordings as possible and do not desire to belabor any issue. I try to say as much as possible in as few words as possible.

I sincerely hope and pray that my words convey what I often identity as ‘True Christianity.” So as to make you totally aware of what I identify as “True Christianity” I will deliver either one or more sermons setting forth what I see as “True Christianity.”

I am acutely aware of God’s desire for any that speak in His name to speak with truth, honesty and total conviction as to what is conveyed. I ask that you receive the sermons I deliver with open minds knowing that I want nothing from any of you other than your prayers and your Christian love.

(Closing prayer)

Almighty God, ABBA, Lord most High we ask that You accept our praise and allow us into Your presence as we offer our worship. We ask that You bless each of us and allow us to understand Your Words just as You desire them to be set forth.

Lord, we are ever eager to do Your bidding and want You to know that each of us stands ready to perform any deed You deem us as capable of doing. Your Person as the Holy Spirit will empower us to fulfill any assignment You may lay upon us.

Father, we ask that You continue to bless us and see us as the children that are ready to do Your biddings.

Father, we ask that You continue to bless this nation, our military, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and that You strengthen us as is necessary to continue our walk in Your Light.

In Jesus’ name we pray who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen.
