GRASSTOPS USA'S 'ONLY IN AMERICA'

Only in Obama's America

       There was a time when we said "only in America" with pride and something bordering on awe.

       This was a special place, where anything was possible – a land of freedom and opportunity where a lad born in a log cabin (with less than a year of formal schooling) could grow up to be president, where the proverbial penniless immigrant could become one of the nation's foremost philanthropists, where someone who started out selling newspapers could become the greatest inventor of his age, and where a guy born Israel Beilin in Russia could write "White Christmas" and "God Bless America."

       Today, it's Only In Obama's America, and it's said with a mixture of disgust and dread. For those of us who grew up when America was still relatively sane, it's a country we hardly recognize, where the pathological is normal and decency is derided.


       Only in Obama's America could the postal service announce it was issuing a commemorative stamp for Harvey Milk – the late San Francisco supervisor who, besides being shot by a guy with a taste for Twinkies, was known primarily for an appetite for other things, including sex with teenaged boys. Coming soon to a Post Office near you, stamps honoring Margaret Sanger, Alfred Kinsey and Hugh Hefner. "Heroes of the sexual revolution – collect them all!"

       Only in Obama's America could a politician forced to resign from Congress for tweeting explicit photos of himself have the chutzpah to run for mayor of New York. Weiner Boy was actually ahead in the polls until it was learned that he was still cyber-flashing. Imagine, a candidate who was too weird for New Yorkers.

       Only in Obama's America could the party whose senior statesman is a sexual predator, that destroyed the black family and whose current leader makes Jimmy Carter look like a Zionist, be the party of single women, African-Americans and Jews.

       Only in Obama's America could two lesbians take steps to turn their 11-year-old adopted son into a "daughter" with no official outcry.

       Only in Obama's America could the Senate pass a bill that would require businesses to hire men who apply for a job dressed like Tullah Bankhead.

       Only in Obama's America could the State of California allow schoolboys who "feel like girls" to shower with and use the restrooms of those who really are girls.

       Only in Obama's America could the American Psychiatric Association change the classification of pedophilia from a mental disorder to a "sexual interest." They're interested in having sex with children. The APA is interested in moving in lockstep with the "gay rights" movement.

       Only in Obama's America, where the Boston Marathon bombers had been granted political asylum, could immigration officials be planning to send a home-schooling family back to Germany – where home-schooling is a crime, their children will be taken by the state and the parents likely imprisoned. Send us your huddled jihadists yearning to plant pressure-cooker bombs. Home-schoolers are just too dangerous.

       Only in Obama's America could the military use an Equal Opportunity training manual that contends "a healthy, white, heterosexual Christian male receives many unearned advantages of social privilege." I knew that someday there'd be a backlash against hiring quotas and preferential admissions for healthy, white, heterosexual, Christian males.

       Only in Obama's America, after the Ft. Hood shootings that left 13 dead, could an Army Chief of Staff declare: "As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse." The flag of diversity will fly over a mound of corpses.

       Only in Obama's America could two Associated Press reporters covering the trial of the confessed Ft. Hood terrorist (who shouted "Allah is great" in Arabic as he gunned down his fellow soldiers) write "a key but difficult question" which needs to be answered is "Why did Maj. Nidal Hasan attack his fellow soldiers in the worst mass shooting ever on a U.S. military base?" In the aftermath of the massacre, Al Qaeda called Hasan "a pioneer, a trailblazer and a role model." Perhaps AP is also confused about Al Qaeda's motives.

       Only in Obama's America could the War on Terrorism be downgraded to an "Overseas Contingency Operation" and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano say she preferred the term "man-caused disasters" to acts of terrorism.

       Only in Obama's America could DHS issue a report (withdrawn under pressure) which identified gun owners, returning veterans and those concerned about the growing power of the federal government as potential sources of domestic terrorism.

       Only in Obama's America could the president refuse to rescue four doomed Americans, including a U.S. ambassador, during a 6-hour siege by Muslim terrorists, then send his spokesmen out to lie about the cause of the attack, claiming it was a spontaneous mob action in response to an obscure video.

       Only in Obama's America could Egypt be punished with loss of military aid for ousting a Muslim Brotherhood government.

       Only in Obama's America could a Secretary of State, interviewed on Israeli television, warn that there will be hell to pay if Israel doesn't immediately allow the emergence of a Palestinian state in the "whole (of) Palestine," end its "perpetual military occupation" of Hamas-istan and dismantle its "illegal settlements." John Kerry (who once carried the American flag upside down in an anti-war demonstration) thinks a people who passionately embrace terrorism and have repeatedly said they'll never accept the existence of even a truncated Israel, are ready for statehood.

       Only in Obama's America could a Hollywood whack-job – known for his violent temper and affinity for homicidal regimes – tell a national television audience that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and his Tea Party supporters should be committed to mental institutions, by executive order. Sean Penn would have been right at home in Stalin's Russia and probably put in charge of psychiatric "hospitals" for dissidents.

       Only in Obama's America could a president who increased the national debt by almost 70% castigate his Congressional opponents for not automatically raising the debt ceiling, and a majority of Americans blame Republicans for the ensuing government shutdown.

       Only in Obama's America could illegal aliens and their supporters be allowed to do their amnesty hat-dance on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. during the government shutdown, while the World War II memorial was closed.

       Only in Obama's America does a demonstration for criminals who are working to de-construct America trump a monument to men who fought and died to save America – though, admittedly, most were healthy, white, heterosexual, Christian males and thus privileged.

       Only in Obama's America could the party that constantly whines about the power of money in politics consistently outspend its opponents – frequently burying them in an avalanche of campaign cash. In this year's Virginia gubernatorial race, Clinton-bagman Terry McAuliffe outspent Republican Ken Cuccinelli 2-to-1, with much of the former's money coming from Democrat millionaires.

       Only in Obama's America could a president be so intent on effacing our religious heritage that he misquotes the Declaration of Independence (twice) and the Gettysburg Address by editing out references to God, and issue a Thanksgiving proclamation that fails to mention the source of our blessings.

       Only in Obama's America, could a president oppose adding FDR's D-Day prayer to the World War II memorial. Roosevelt's prayer began: "Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity. Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith."

       Only in Obama's America could a president repeatedly lie to the American people about his signature initiative, telling them: "If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away period." At least "read my lips, no new taxes" and "I did not have sexual relations with that women, Miss Lewinsky" didn't lead to the cancellation of millions of health insurance policies.

       Only in Obama's America could a president be so anxious to negotiate with Iran's lunatic regime that he begins lifting sanctions in advance, but refuses to negotiate with Republicans over modification of ObamaCare.

       Only in Obama's America could the Justice Department sue states with voter ID laws, claiming that laws which will reduce voter-fraud are designed to disenfranchise minorities. Perhaps DOJ should sue banks that require a photo-ID to cash checks. Then again, check fraud doesn't elect Democrats.

       Only in Obama's America would Border Patrol agents find it necessary to sue the president because he won't let them do their job.

       Only in Obama's America are atheist groups and Muslim Brotherhood operatives officially welcomed at the White House while National Day of Prayer gets the cold shoulder.

       Only in Obama's America could America's most notorious living traitor portray the wife of America's greatest president of the 20th century in a cinematic hatchet job. Coming soon, Jane Fonda as Betsy Ross, as Martha Washington, as Mary Todd Lincoln, as Knute Rockne, All American.

       Only in Obama's America could pro-life candidates be called "too extreme," while those who would allow the abortion of babies just weeks away from birth are considered the voice of moderation.

       Only in Obama's America could the DOJ warn, after the Boston Marathon bombings, that it will not tolerate an anti-Muslim backlash (which never happened), while the administration studiously ignores the persecution of Christians throughout the Muslim world. In an average year, anti-Semitic incidents outnumber anti-Muslim incidents 8-to-1.

       Only in Obama's America could a disciple of Saul Alinsky who told voters he wanted to "transform America," who says: "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody" and "If you've got a business, you didn't build that, somebody else made it happen" be portrayed by the media as a centrist.

       Only in Obama's America could a youth who may have been born in Kenya, who spent part of his childhood in Muslim Indonesia with his hippy mother, who palled around with communists most of his life (Frank Marshall Davis and Bill Ayers among them) grow up to be president.
