Get Connected Farm Bill Coming Soon In the next few weeks, Congress will start talking about a “Farm Bill” again. The bad part is: it’s a pork filled corporate hand out, and it may pass. Grassroots activists already beat the DC Establishment’s Farm Bill once this year. But DC Insiders hope to catch the rest of the country off-guard. For decades Establishment Republicans and Democrats have worked to ensure the Farm Bill passes. Their corporate cronies spend millions of dollars lobbying for special subsidies, leaving family farms struggling to compete.   You need to know how anti-free free market this bill really is. The NSA is Still Spying on Your Email Last week, we learned the NSA hacked into the private servers of Google and Yahoo – two of the biggest internet providers in America. The NSA’s spying is unconstitutional and totally out of control. Congress needs to rein in the NSA’s spying once and for all. The Bill of Rights is supposed to protect all Americans against unreasonable searches and seizures. The Founding Fathers insisted that government obtain a warrant from a judge before conducting searches. But the NSA doesn't care. We need to make sure the Senate gets this message: every American should be protected by the constitution. Tell Congress the NSA’s unaccountable spying must end now. Why the Minimum Wage Will Derail Our Economy Harry Reid may soon introduce legislation to hike the minimum wage. This is a terrible piece of legislation that will do nothing to end America’s recession. Economists agree: if you raise the price of something, you get less of it. That’s Economics 101. Progressives say a minimum wage hike will help the poor, but in fact it will do the exact opposite. The minimum wage effectively outlaws those jobs that act as a foot-in-the-door for low-skilled workers. If you think the unemployment rate is bad now, it will climb even higher if the minimum wage goes up. Harry Reid wants to bring a minimum wage bill to a vote soon. Supporters of economic freedom and limited government should be opposed to this legislation.
