SERMON - LIFE GAURANTEED

Life GUARANTEED

I have a neighbor with whom I talk about Christianity with. She is elderly and the Spirit of the Lord can be seen in her eyes. This week she made a comment that got me thinking. “You reap what you sow.”

I use this statement a lot and decided to study this Scriptural message and sermonize on it as well as another matter.

Galatians 6: 7-8 Don’t be misled. Remember that you can’t ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow.  Those who live to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Ignore God and those about you will do likewise. Just as the sowing of wheat results in the reaping of wheat and the sowing of barley results in the reaping of barley. Sow sparingly and reap sparingly but sow bountifully and you will reap bountifully. If you sow evil, you will only reap evil but sow love of God and you will realize the love of God. God must be in your heart and mind always!

Greet everyone with a smile; never gossip about anyone. Be eager to help and slow to ask for help unless you really need it. Be quick to tell someone you will say a prayer for them. Pray for everyone, especially your enemies. Always be a Christian even when it is hard to do! Love is the key.

Teaching the truths of the Gospel is to walk in the Spirit.

It must be realized that sowing the Gospel allows the reaping of God’s gift of eternal life, a gift given by God through Jesus Christ and by His grace.

To regress to the initial words of this Scripture demands an explanation. “Don’t be misled.”

To have anyone, a Layman, Minister, Pastor or Priest   tell you things that are not in God’s Word or that deliberately alter the meaning of God’s Word, is to court spiritual death. Just as you are to reap what you sow, that Minister/Pastor/Priest will reap what he sows, BUT you are, by accepting the altered Word, just as guilty as he!

Not everyone is a child of God. The Bible is very clear on that topic. Satan has been on earth as long as earth has existed. He knows of religious matters and can fool even the most astute person! He fooled Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Live the life of a Christian with the joy in your heart that God will allow.

Your eternal life is guaranteed only if you live in accordance with God’s dictates. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that man’s sins would, at last, be forgiven. Just as He fulfilled the Laws of God, He established Laws! If you read God’s Word, you will learn what I am saying is blatantly true, in every word! Jesus taught the need of repentance, He taught the need to place God before everything we do, and He taught that God’s Word was final in all circumstances. He did not eradicate the Ten Commandments. His teachings taught us that disbelief, going against God and blasphemy of the Holy Spirit would result in spiritual death. Those are God’s Words, not mine.

There is a way to please the Lord.  Adhere to His every teaching and believe that every Word of God is true and unalterable. Obey Him not your human nature!

Now, to progress and say a bit more about my conversations with my neighbor: On one occasion as we were chatting she burst into song. The song was an old hymn and she sang it with the love of God reflected in her eyes and voice.  Afterwards I referred to my Bible and found the reason why. Like I said before, “the Lord can be seen in her eyes.”

Ephesians 5:18-19 Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And then you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When a person gets so full of the Spirit he or she cannot help but sing praises to the Lord. My neighbor was full of love for God and that was reason for me to rejoice. I am always singing to God in my heart as my singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, but I think my ‘heart voice’ just might be a ‘Sweet, sweet word to His ear.’

Just as my grandmother taught me long ago, “Talking to God in prayer is like walking to God but singing to God is running to God.” Well, I often run to God and to my surprise, I never get out of breath!

(Closing prayer)

Almighty God, Father of us all, please accept our praise and our worship. You have created everything and are the Power of our lives.

Lord, You have given us the gift of discernment. This gift allows us to determine good and evil, what to sow and what to avoid sowing. Father at this time we ask You to supply us with the strength to utilize the gifts You have bestowed upon us so as to allow us to walk the path to You and to a life eternal and to have others we have sown the seed to accompany us. Strengthen our resolve to repel Satan at every turn and to recognize the antichrists amongst us.

Lord, there are those amongst us that sing Your praises, both aloud and in our hearts. Please accept the songs as worship of You and Your holiness. You are our God and we seek to honor You and show our undying love of You.

Lord, we also repeat our requests of You to protect our men and women in uniform. There are some in harms way and we ask that You protect them in every way. Strengthen them in both body as well as in spirit. Guide our elected officials and Lord, those that do not fill their office for the good of our citizens, replace them with men and women who will follow Your will and not theirs...

In Jesus’ name we pray who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen.
