Does anyone care what border sheriffs think?
It's monsoon season in southern Arizona, so Cochise County Sheriff Mark
Dannels has to drive slowly along the hilly, rocky, muddy terrain that
covers the 83-mile border his county shares with Mexico. He scans the
horizon to see whether any immigrants or drug smugglers are approaching
the 4-foot-high border fence. Glancing at the lights of a city in
Mexico, he turns and asks, "Seen any Border Patrol agents?"

A liberal moans about the politically incorrect Redskins
I can't tell you how many times I've said the words "Washington
Redskins." At one point in my career, I probably used the term at least
50 times a day. I said it on television and radio. I wrote it in the
newspaper. Over the years, I've used it thousands of times, probably
more than 10,000 by now. It's time I stopped.

Rebels in Syria are receiving weapons from the CIA after months of
delays in delivering promised lethal aid, U.S. officials and opposition
groups said.

Will weapons deal make Assad stronger?
Pursuing a diplomatic resolution that would let dictator Bashar Assad
surrender Syria's chemical weapons runs the risk of extending his stay
in power and undercutting support of rebels who have been fighting his
regime with U.S. support, some Syria analysts say.

A Case of National Whiplash
Did you see the hopeful breaking news about Syria? "Russia takes control
of Syrian chemical weapons." That was the headline I saw on the Daily
Kos website.

Israel to Syria: Our red lines are still firm
Israel still has "red lines" with Syria and will take military action if
the Assad regime tries to deliver weapons of any type to Hezbollah, an
official said.

Note to politicians: You work for us
Politicians are not kings. We do not elect politicians to tell us what
light bulbs we can buy, how much soda we can drink or how best we can
defend ourselves. We elect them to listen to us and fight for what we
believe in.
