TO THE SENATE! -- Update: Friday 9/20
John
Boehner and the House of Representatives HAVE PASSED (11:30 a.m.) the
Continuing Resolution (summary below), which will fund the federal
government through Dec. 15th but DEFUND OBAMACARE. The bill is now
before the Senate.
You can follow the details through your favorite news source(s). BUT:
YOUR
immediate and full-force influence with the U.S. Senate - conservative
and non-conservative Republicans AND Democrats alike - is what will
determine the outcome.
The
media says it is now expected that the Senate will strip the
"defunding" language, and return the bill quickly to the House, for the
purpose of tossing the hot potato right back and "making the Republicans
responsible for shutting down the federal government." Harry Reid and
President Obama have said as much.
What happens after that is an unanswered question.
ACTION:
All WE can do is communicate to the Senate (and the House, if the bill comes back to them amended) our same basic message:
§ ■
Obamacare is hurting the majority of Americans: lost jobs, work-time
reductions, loss of their preferred doctors, disarray in out to replace
lost health coverage, etc.
§ ■ We want Obamacare defunded and eliminated
§ ■ We stand with those who will do whatever it takes to accomplish this
1) Phone / Fax / E-mail Senate and House members.
Keep YOUR message clear and simple:

If you're on Facebook, Twitter, etc. - voice your support for this
measure. Use "Forward to Friends" link at bottom to spread this alert
far and wide.
The Bottom Line: If enough Americans contact Congress, Congress will ultimately change their course. Failing that, welcome to Obamacare.
In the U.S. Senate . . .
Make the two quick calls below, then begin to work other members of the Senate
from other states. As above, bullet-point your remarks in advance. Keep
your remarks quick, pointed, firm, clear, emphatic - but business-like.
Tell them the American People are being hurt by Obamacare. they're
losing jobs, losing the health coverage they've had, losing their
doctors, and paying more. We want Obamacare stopped. Be firm but
respectful; be very serious but very thoughtful. If you can tell a
personal story QUICKLY about the harm Obamacare would mean to you,
include it. We need their vote, and then we need them to stand firm.
