1.  Congressional Outreach for Today and Tomorrow
Accountable Congress has done amazing work chronicling all the town halls and opportunities to reach out to members of Congress over August. Few groups have performed as well as them in documenting activities.

They should serve as a model for every other group out there in getting this data out to Americans. It is very clear that members of Congress, regardless of party, do not want you to know where they will be this August. Well, because of Accountable Congress and groups like FreedomWorks and Tea Party Patriots, we can tell you.

Over the next several weeks I’m going to start posting the data. Get it to your friends. Get it to you relatives. Track down the members of Congress. Have your voice heard. Tell them to oppose the Gang of 8 Immigration Bill and tell them to defund Obamacare.

Both messages are key. Get out there and let them know. If you don’t go tell your congressman, he’s going to presume you are okay with funding Obamacare and okay with passing the Gang of 8 plan. So this is on you. Get out there and let your voice be heard.

2.  The RNC: In Communities and There to Stay
Back in January, I shared with RedState my vision for the RNC’s field operation and some of the lessons we had learned from the 2012 election:

As a party, we must recognize that we live in an era of permanent politics. We must stop living nominee-to-nominee, campaign to campaign. As we saw this election, our opponent benefited from a multi-year head-start. Now is the time to begin to develop a permanent, national field infrastructure and get a head-start of our own.

Since then, the RNC has crafted a plan, redesigned our operation, prioritized reaching new communities, and dedicated ourselves to making voter engagement a permanent effort.

We will put boots on the ground in all 50 states earlier in the election cycle than ever before. And once in place, they will stay there. We’re not building up and tearing down anymore; we’re building a foundation. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

3.  No One Showed Up at Organizing for Action’s Climate Change Rally Because #ScienceSaysSo
If a Climate Change rally fails in the woods and no one is around to hear it, did it really happen? How about in Washington, D.C.?

Organizing for Action marched out of Mordor today to demand action on climate change. They held a rally in Washington, D.C. In Washington, of all places, you’d think liberal hipsters could at least depart Starbucks for just a few minutes to pump their fists in the air Soviet style.

But alas it was not to be. No one showed up. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

4.  Shutting Down Mitch McConnell *Will* Stop Obamacare
Well, at least Mitch McConnell has finally come out of the shadows to take a stand on a contentious issue.  That is a start.  Roll Call reports that Mitch McConnell is publicly espousing the view that he has always held privately . . . please click here for the rest of the post

5.  Union-Free America, Beware: Obama’s NLRB Is Locked, Loaded & Ready To Do Union Bosses’ Bidding
It is now official. Barack Obama’s union-dominated National Labor Relations Board is now up to its full anti-employer potential with AFL-CIO attorney Nancy Schiffer and union lawyer Kent Hirozawa being sworn in, along with union attorney Mark Pearce resuming his role as chairman.
This is the first time the NLRB has had five sitting members since 2003, when Democrats began crippling George Bush’s NLRB in an effort to diminish its capacity on rulings. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

6.  Organizing for Action Takes on Climate Change Because Jobs Are Not Important
Here in Middle Georgia we have had very few days this year above ninety degrees, which is unusual. It took my zinnias a bit longer than normal to bloom. We have, however, had more than double our normal rainfall. I have saved a good bit of money on not running the sprinkler system. The rosemary, basil, and thyme are doing quite well.

Downtown Los Angeles hasn’t reached 80 degrees in 17 days. That hasn’t happened since 1910.

Yes, the climate is changing. Before man set foot on the planet the climate changed. In the Middle Ages the climate changed too. About the only thing recently that hasn’t happened is the world hasn’t heated up. We’ve plateaued. We live in the time period now when the climate model predictions of the nineties and early two-thousands are reality and of all the climate models out there hardly any at all predicted this and even those that predicted this plateau didn’t get everything right. . . . please click here for the rest of the post
