MUTH'S TRUTHS 05/13/2013

MOUNT REAGAN PROJECT UPDATE

THANK YOU to everyone who took time to sign our online petition, submitted an email message of support, or sent me a letter of support for the Mount Reagan Project.

The first hearing is tomorrow morning in Dayton.  Will send you a full report upon my return.  In the meantime, if you’d like to read a copy of the Executive Summary I prepared to present in our briefing book, click here

NLV FLIM-FLAM LAND SCAM

I read about it a few weeks ago…and my non-patented Bullsh*t Meter warning light went off.  But I just didn’t have the time to follow up on it.  This weekend I did.

Seems the City of North Las Vegas is mulling a scheme in which it would abuse its eminent domain powers to take the homes of people who are underwater and sell them at a ginormous discount to some property investors while simultaneously screwing the current mortgage holders out of a bundle of dough.

The city, of course, as is Vegas tradition, will get its vig in the deal, too.

I’ll be writing a lot more about this shady “too good to be true” scheme in the coming days and weeks ahead…but in the meantime you can read the letter I shot off to the mayor and city council before leaving Las Vegas this morning by clicking here

“Saying the Marketplace Fairness Act is fair is like saying the Affordable Care Act makes health care affordable.” – Rep. Marsha Blackburn

“Calling the Internet tax bill the ‘Marketplace Fairness Act’ is like calling a serial killer an ‘Overpopulation Specialist.’” – Ann Stone

If you haven’t signed our letter to Nevada Reps. Joe Heck and Mark Amodei urging them to join Nevada Sen. Dean Heller and OPPOSE the Internet tax, click here
