After the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, we, like most Americans, were praying for the people of Sandy Hook. We mourned with those families whose children were killed, wounded, and terrified at the massacre that took place. And we pushed for an honest and open debate to find real solutions for preventing such violent outbursts against our children.
Instead of rising to the challenge of preventing such tragedies, Obama and his liberal allies are intent on taking away our gun rights.

Gun owners haven’t faced a challenge this serious since 1994, and it’s going to take a momentous effort to win this time. That’s why we need you to join GOA.
The new variable that has given rise to these horrific killing sprees is “gun-free zones.” It’s no coincidence that psychopaths are committing atrocities where law-abiding citizens cannot carry weapons.
On top of protecting these gun-free zones, Obama wants a National Gun Registry that would track every transaction involving a firearm – even ones made between family members. This is the first step in the process to strip law-abiding gun owners of their constitutional rights.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has already said “confiscation” is an option to limiting gun violence.
This is where we come in. The New York Times said this about our efforts to stop gun control: "Upstart Group Pushes Harder than the NRA."
For more than 38 years, Gun Owners of America has been the only no compromise gun lobby in the United States. We have seen what happens when Congress or even some of the other gun groups decide to compromise with the anti-gun lobby. The Second Amendment is the foundation upon which all of our other freedoms are secured.
