There have been few more important issues in our lifetime than ObamaCare’s outrageous “mandates.” Although I am not convinced that the “Public Comment” procedure HHS is providing is a particularly effective way to make our voices heard on the “accommodation” the President has made, we must take every opportunity we have to STOP ObamaCare’s implementation!
We have done extensive research on this issue, and I pray you will carefully read this email and download the position paper we are offering. Then, after familiarizing yourself with the material, follow the link to the HHS website and make your voice heard!
God bless you as you exercise your God-given responsibility to impact America’s culture for good! Thank you for reading my message on a truly urgent matter – Mat.

Conservatives,
On February 6, 2013, the Obama Administration released a proposed “accommodation” to the mandate under ObamaCare that all employers, even faith-based institutions, be required to provide free “contraceptive coverage,” including abortion-inducing drugs, to their employees and students.
On February 6, 2013, the Obama Administration released a proposed “accommodation” to the mandate under ObamaCare that all employers, even faith-based institutions, be required to provide free “contraceptive coverage,” including abortion-inducing drugs, to their employees and students.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be accepting public comments on this proposed “accommodation” until Monday, April 8th, at 11:59 p.m.
I am urging every Liberty Counsel Action team member to go to the HHS website and make a comment this weekend. This is an urgent request given the fact that pro-homosexual groups are asking their supporters to completely deluge the comment site.
There are three facts we found particularly egregious in the new HHS guidelines:
Most Religious Organizations Don’t Qualify Under the “Religious Employer” Exemption.
The “Religious Employer Exemption,” which would protect religious organizations from being forced to fund sterilization procedures, abortifacients, and contraceptives is written as a narrow exemption. It only protects churches, their integrated auxiliaries, conventions or associations of churches, and exclusively religious activities of any religious order.
Most religious organizations do not fall within this narrowly defined category. For example, non-profit non-church organizations and all for-profit organizations will be forced to provide these “contraceptive services” for their employees and students.
Religious Institutions of Higher Education Will be Forced to Provide Students with “Contraceptive Services.”
That means that, for example, Liberty University, because it is a “religious institution of higher education,” and a “self-insured employer,” will be forced to go through a “self-certification” process.
This also means that Liberty University will have to report to a “Third Party Administrator” who will then automatically arrange for students to receive “contraceptive coverage” from another insurer. Under this “accommodation,” Liberty University will be forced to act as a gateway for contraceptive coverage.
The Proposed Accommodation Doesn’t Change the Mandate.
Most religious organizations will still be required to provide coverage for “Contraceptive Services.” These “services” include surgical sterilization, all FDA-approved “contraceptives”— including Ella and Plan B, and “education and counseling for all women with reproductive capacity.”
The only thing that the proposed accommodation does is to shift from direct payment for the contraceptive services to indirect payment to a third party. The institution will still have to violate its conscience by spending money on contraceptives.
Summary – Religious freedom is perhaps our most precious liberty and we cannot take it for granted. If the Obama Administration succeeds in forcing faith-based institutions to violate their freedom of conscience, then Freedom of Religion will be lost, as we know it.
