Don't let currency cheats steal American jobs through a trade deal.
Dear Friend:
Washington is getting serious about signing a new international trade agreement with countries ringing the Pacific Ocean. It’s called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and U.S. diplomats just wrapped up a meeting with representatives from other potential signees to hash out the deal’s details.
At the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), we think trade deals should give American businesses and American workers a fair shot to compete overseas. But what aren’t we for? Trade deals at any cost. That’s why we say a TPP agreement should make sure our trading partners don’t fool with the value of their currency to get a leg up on their competition.
Why? Currency manipulation is an easy way for a country to fake its way to the top of the trading pile. It artificially pumps up America’s competitors, and it causes more American jobs to go offshore.
Click below to send a letter to our elected officials in Washington that tells them:
Let Washington know: No provision to fight currency manipulation? No deal.
Thanks for your support. Together, we can keep it made in America.
Sincerely,
Scott Paul
