RedState Briefing 12/07/2012

Morning Briefing
For December 7, 2012

Special Note:
I’m in for Talkmaster Neal Boortz today. You probably will want to tune in for this show. There’s a lot going on today with the fiscal cliff and other news. The show runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET.

1. Why John Boehner Must Not Fold on Tax Rate Increases

This Politico story makes very clear John Boehner must not raise rates. Better to go off the cliff than raise rates. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

2. Unions Get Ugly As Michigan Is Set To Become 24th Right-to-Work State In Nation
The Michigan House passed a Right-to-Work law this afternoon. It was expected that the Michigan Senate would be taking up the legislation early next week.

However, a mere three and a half hours later, the Michigan Senate surprised everyone–especially unions–by following the lower chamber in passing Right-to-Work legislation as well.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post

3.  Two Roads Diverged: Jim DeMint Leaves U.S. Senate for Heritage Foundation Presidency
Jim DeMint, the standard bearer of the conservative movement in America and conservative king maker, is leaving the United States Senate.

He will succeed Ed Feulner as President of the Heritage Foundation. . . . please click here for the rest of the post
