FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Read this…and then buckle up. Full response later this morning.
RAISING CAIN AND CAUSING PAYNE!

HAMMOND v. ROSS
Republican Scott Hammond debated Democrat Kelli Ross on Face to Face Tuesday night in their State Senate race.
Ross – “the union candidate” - came off as pretty well informed, but her positions on issues puts her pretty much in the Bolshevik category.
For his part, Hammond, a government employee (Wait - aren’t Republicans supposedly opposed to public employees serving in the Legisalture?), was singularly unimpressive. Vanilla ice cream. Paint drying excitement. Pure wishy-washy, mamby-pamby moderate (51% conservative rating by Citizen Outreach for the 2011 legislative session).
And it showed.
As an assemblyman last year, Hammond voted FOR the $620 million tax hike/sunset extension, but now won’t say what he’ll do on Gov. Sandoval’s plan to extend the hikes yet again next year to pay government employees higher salaries.
And he regurgitated the falsehood that he voted to “cut” taxes on 115,000 small businesses last year and “cut” the budget by $500 million – which was nothing more than the non-renewal of Obama’s “stimulus” money.
Oy vey. Far left vs. center-left. Some choice for conservatives in the district. Which reminds me…
If you like playing “Where’s Waldo?” go to Hammond’s campaign website - click here - and see if you can find any reference to the actual district number of the senate district he’s running for. But play quickly, before the campaign reads this and fixes it!
And don’t be fooled if you accidentally find the district map buried in the website. The candidate has the WRONG district number (13) showing there. Ditto on his calendar page.
But at least we can trust him to get the numbers correct on the budget, right?
THE HORSFORD FILES
A master at playing identity politics, Democrat congressional candidate Steve Horsford was at it again on Twitter on Tuesday, slobbering out more mindless drivel for the masses, this time about voting:
“Natl Voter Reg Day! We fought tirelessly to secure our rights & we must be vigilant protecting the right to vote,” little Stevie wrote in the first tweet. “We cannot stay home or be deterred from voting on Election Day! Register and get ready!” he whinnied in the second.
What a Twitter twit. As if anyone legally eligible to vote today can’t, or is under threat of losing that right.
Sen. Pander Bear followed that up with this sop to Jewish voters:
“To all of those celebrating Yom Kippur today I hope you and your family have an easy fast.”
What a Twitter twit. Do some people really fall for this crappola?
DRIVE-BY MUTHINGS
* Pop quiz: What well-known conservative said the following this week? "For better or for worse, all right, we have a black Muslim in the White House, okay?" Answer at the bottom.
* Just got my 2011 tax return finished by my accountant yesterday…and, dammit, I’m not one of the 47%!
* According to ESPN.com writer Darren Rovell, “The average NFL game official last season made $8,764 a game.” For roughly three hours of work, one day a week for roughly four months out of the year. That comes to more than $140,000 a year for 16 days of work. Yeah, I feel really bad for them. And look forward to an error-free game tonight now that they’re back on the job.
* By the way, a Democrat state senator in New Jersey “is proposing a ban on using replacement referees in professional sports.” Yes, that’s the most pressing issue in New Jersey these days, right?
* Attention Nevada Republicans: Want to boost GOP voter registrations? Well, um, here’s an idea.
* The Retail Association of Nevada released new polling data yesterday showing, among other things, that Nevadans support education reform but do not support organized labor’s proposed “margins tax” on businesses. Click here for full details.
* Pop quiz answer: Actually, it was a trick question. It wasn’t a conservative who said "we have a black Muslim in the White House.” It was aging pop diva Madonna, a card-carrying limousine liberal.
So, um, where’s the outrage? You know; the outrage the media would have spewed if it HAD been a conservative who said that. (Hat tip Rich Galen)
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
"Replacement refs doing the best they can. That's the problem. Sort of like President Obama.” – Tweet from Fox News’ Brit Hume
“All those who believe Barack Obama hates doing the job of President but loves beingPresident, raise hands. Oh. Everyone.” – Rich Galen, Mullings.com
