URGENT: OBAMA IS GETTING TERRIBLE PRESS ON THIS AND WE CAN SHUT IT DOWN.
In a brazen, shameful attack on our military men and women's most sacred citizen right of the franchise, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in Ohio to strike down part of that state's law governing voting by members of the military. This shockingly partisan suit – clearly intended to disenfranchise conservative, patriotic military voters in a vital "swing" state – baselessly claims that part of the law is "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."
News of the lawsuit is causing a firestorm and CONGRESS NEEDS TO HEAR FROM YOU IN THEIR HOME DISTRICTS AND WASHINGTON THAT THIS OUTRAGE CANNOT STAND!
As reported on Breitbart's Big Government, and picked up in the Washington Times – but buried in the Obama-loving mainstream media, this story is another Obama SCANDAL! Obama is illicitly touting himself as a pro-national defense, pro-national security and pro-military leader. HAH! He trumpets false memes of admiration and dedication to members of our armed forces. The Democrats are always trolling for visits with the troops and photo ops taken with members of our military – and then undermining their mission and denigrating the military community. What hypocrisy!
If the Democrats truly respect our men and women of the armed forces, why are the Obama campaign and the Democrat party suing to restrict the ability of the military to vote in the upcoming November general election?
Ohio law as written allows for in-person early voting through the Friday before the election. Because of the exigencies of armed forces service, members of the military are granted three extra days by the state of Ohio to do so. The Obama Democrats pretend to see this grace period as "arbitrary" and having "no discernible rational basis;" the state of Ohio's legislature enacted their statute judging that given the extraordinary demands on servicemen and women's time and their obligations to their sworn duty, the extra days for voting are necessary for fair access.
The National Defense Committee has documented in a definitive report:
"[f]or each of the last three years, the Department of Defense's Federal Voting Assistance Program has reported to the President and the Congress that the number one reason for military voter disenfranchisement is inadequate time to successfully vote."
Mike Flynn writing in Breitbart has it exactly right:
"I think it's unconscionable that we as a nation wouldn't make it as easy as possible for members of the military to vote. They arguably have more right to vote than the rest of us, since it is their service and sacrifice that ensures we have the right to vote in the first place.
If anyone proposes legislation to combat voter fraud, Democrats will loudly scream that the proposal could 'disenfranchise' some voter, somewhere. We must ensure, they argue, that voting is easy and accessible to every single voter. Every voter, that is, except the men and women of our military.Make no mistake, the Democrat lawsuit is intended to disenfranchise some unknown number of military voters. The judge should reject it with prejudice."
This is a disgraceful, scandalous maneuver by Obama's "troops" of anti-American transformation – but it is only ONE of MANY battles being waged in what can only be described as Obama's war against our military…
In another shameful, cynical, anti-military ploy, the Obama administration is jacking up military health insurance premiums by 345% and slashing $12.9 billion worth of active duty and retiree Tricare health and medical coverage.
You see, in the "changes" to care, Obama's claque has ensured that even though TriWest Healthcare Alliance has served the healthcare needs of military families in the TRICARE West Region since 1996 to sterling review by Department of Defense (DoD) assessment AND deep military family satisfaction, a startling decision was made to award the $20 billion T-3 West Region Contract to UnitedHealthcare, insurance operating division of gigantic conglomerate UnitedHealth Group, the largest single health carrier in the United States and a big ObamaCare player.
This was a contract that TriWest has held since the inception of the military's TRICARE program. Awarding this contract to a new, unknown and untested provider will affect the healthcare coverage of 2.9 million current and retired military personnel, National Guard members and their families in 21 Western states.
Here's what's really going on. Obama needs people signing up for the ObamaCare programs administered by the Federal Government. Therefore, he is making the current healthcare available to service men and women and military retirees more costly, uncertain and unattractive than his ObamaCare programs. He is banking on a significant number of men and women opting out of service-provided care and signing up with ObamaCare.
This is important because most men and women in the service are in the prime of their lives and far healthier compared to the likely "demographic" signing up domestically. Without the young and healthy signing up for his ObamaCare program… we already know that the cost/benefit analysis is dismal and the fiscal projections from the Liar-in-Chief just seem to get worse and worse.
You can bet right now there are all kinds of pamphlets and memos floating around the military comparing very unfavorably the prices (plus increases) and coverage changes (with reductions in care) of their current health plans with all the great "affordable, mandated care" that is "promised" under ObamaCare.
We MUST support our military men and women, and keep the promises made to them of top quality, service member healthcare programs that are NOT diminished care, nationalized, lowest common denominator care that Obama is subsidizing off of THEIR sacrifices to OUR nation!
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
Obama's plan is to cut $1.8 billion from Tricare, the military's health insurance and medical system, in the fiscal 2013 budget, and a whopping $12.9 billion by 2017. Administration officials told Congress that the goal of the increased fees is to force military retirees out of military health coverage and instead onto the rolls of the ObamaCare system, including all that goes with it – Death Panels, Independent Payment Advisory Boards, Rationing of Care, Waitlists – the works.
Meanwhile, just to PROVE where Obama has his priorities – Fox News discovered that the administration is currently in the process of building a state of the art $750,000 soccer field for the terrorists held at Guantanamo. The detainees will now have a choice of threerecreation centers while they "suffer" through their detainment.
Since when does America put the comfort of terrorists above the needs of the men and women who put their lives on the line every single day to keep us free?
And to make Obama's hypocrisy and cynicism ABSOLUTELY CLEAR – if he doesn't get these outrageous hikes in healthcare fees levied on service members and retired military by Congress, Obama has threatened to veto the vital defense appropriations bill!
Thankfully, some Congressmen are standing strong for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. "We shouldn't ask our military to pay our bills when we aren't willing to impose a similar hardship on the rest of the population," Rep. "Buck" McKeon, (R-CA), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. "We can't keep asking those who have given so much to give that much more."
Our military men and women raised their hand and swore an oath to protect us. In return we agreed to take care of them and their families while they fought, bled and suffered for US. Fax Congress now. Tell them NO CUTS TO MILITARY HEALTHCARE! NO GIGANTIC PREMIMUM HIKES OR BAIT-AND-SWITCH PROVIDER SWAPS! AND NO HERDING OUR HEROES INTO OBAMACARE DIMINISHED CARE, RATIONING AND DEATH PANELS!
