Yesterday, I filed paperwork with the Nevada Secretary of State making me an official candidate for U.S. Senate. I wanted to take a moment to share with you why I believe the coming months will be so important for Nevada.
Washington has saddled our nation with crippling debt. We've seen trillions spent on bailouts and ever-expanding federal bureaucracies. Government regulations are crushing our small businesses and killing job opportunities.
We are at a crossroads. If we continue on our current path, we may reach a point where America is no longer the land of opportunity.
This election is about our vision for the future of our country. This November, we're going to decide which path we will take as a nation. That's why the fight ahead is so critical.
In the coming months, attacks will be leveled. Our opponents—desperate to win—will make wild claims and stop at nothing to defeat us. Make no mistake, our resolve will be tested.
We must stand strong.
In order to restore prosperity to Nevada, we must end the policies that caused these problems in the first place. We can, and we must, reclaim the American entrepreneurial spirit that encourages small businesses to grow:
- Eliminate job-killing regulations
- Repeal ObamaCare
- Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution
- End the bailout culture in Washington
Nevada is our home, and this election is about the kind of place we want it to be. It's about the kind of future we want for our children and grandchildren—the kind of state we're going to leave for generations to come.
I will fight with everything I've got to change our course. Together, we can take back the future of our country and restore the American Dream for all Nevadans.
