DHS WRONG AGAIN

DRUG TRAFFICKERS THREATENING AZ POLICE OFFICERS
The Department of Justice’s National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) reported that Mexican drug trafficking organizations are threatening law enforcement officers in Arizona in order to “deter their enforcement activities.”

According to the DOJ’s 2011 Drug Market Analysis for Arizona, “Violent criminal groups often referred to as border bandits, rip crews, or bajadores, operate along trafficking corridors in remote locations, preying upon law enforcement officers and smugglers who transit their territories.”

The total number of assaults against Border Patrol officers in the [Arizona] Tucson Sector increased by 61 percent in FY2010. The DOJ analysis projected that violence against law enforcement officers will continue to grow despite Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s claims that the U.S.-Mexico border is secure.
