Three U.S. Senators will introduce legislation to prohibit the Obama administration from suing states that seek to enforce laws against illegal immigration. Jim DeMint (R-SC), David Vitter (R-LA), and Jeff Sessions (R-AL) announced they will offer a bill to bar the Department of Justice from participating in lawsuits such as those that have been filed againstSouth Carolina, Alabama, and Arizona.
It is bad enough that the federal government has failed in its obligation to enforce immigration laws. It is pathetic that it goes a step further and sues those states who take legal action in accord with federal immigration laws. The administration is also reviewing immigration laws passed in Indiana, Georgia and Utah so more lawsuits from Attorney General Holder are likely.
