We've done it!!! Grassroots pressure from Texans as well as Campaign for Liberty members from all over the country resulted in Governor Perry placing the TSA legislation on the agenda for the currently running special legislative session! We called him out, we wouldn't let up, and our hard work has paid off!
Three things we need you to do to keep this ball rolling:
1.Make sure you contact your State Senator right away and tell them to support SB29 - click here to find their contact info.
2.The Senators listed below may be sitting on the fence and need some extra attention:
Sen. Leticia Van de Putte of San Antonio, head of the Senate Democratic Caucus, said she hates such searches and initially was going to vote for Patrick's bill in the regular session before she learned about the potential effect on air travel in Texas. Read the article here.
Watch grassroots activist Wesley Strackbein put Perry on the spot at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans last weekend.
3. The Senate hearing is scheduled:
COMMITTEE: Transportation & Homeland Security
TIME & DATE: 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, 2011
PLACE: E1.016 (Hearing Room)
CHAIR: Senator Tommy Williams
(If you are unable to attend the hearing, contact the committee members – their contact information is listed at the end of this email.)
Special thanks to ALL the many grassroots groups and individuals working together on this issue and everyone who helped spread the word and made those calls!!!! Keep it up!!!
For Liberty and Texas,
Debbie McKee
