Boehner confirms intention to restore

funding to Planned Parenthood in

Continuing Resolution.

On Friday Night, March 25, the L.A. Times reported that the House Leadership and the Senate Leadership had concluded a closed door deal that would restore funding to Planned Parenthood. We sent out an email and a press release regarding this betrayal. For some mysterious reason, the L.A. Times pulled the story, adding to confusion and speculation.

Then, on Sunday, March 27, Speaker Boehner removed all doubt: he did an interview with CBN reporter David Brody in which he confirmed his intention to restore funding to Planned Parenthood in the continuing resolution. In this interview, it is clear that Speaker Boehner has agreed to surrender regarding Planned Parenthood. Here are excerpts:

"'The goal here again is to cut spending and keep the government open,' Boehner said of the move to defund the organization, in an interview published Sunday. 'I met with a lot of religious leaders earlier today to talk about the strategy and I think it's important that we understand that what we want to do here is win the war not just win a battle and there will be an opportunity sometime in order to win the big war and we're looking for that opportunity.'

"The defunding vote from the lower chamber came as part of a continuing resolution that included dramatic spending cuts across a range of programs. The Democrat-controlled Senate is set to consider the spending bill this week and is likely to reject a significant amount of the GOP's spending cuts, including those that affect Planned Parenthood.

"But despite Boehner's support of defunding the group – a move that has long been supported by social conservatives – the House Speaker says he's not willing to shut down the government over that measure alone.

Mr. Boehner does not get it. The "opportunity we're looking for" is here and now. By saying ahead of time that he would "not shut down the government" over Planned Parenthood, he has telegraphed to the Senate, and to us, that he is surrendering. This mystical "opportunity" to defund Planned Parenthood may never come under his watch, because he has already told the enemy this is a hill he will surrender; perhaps a nice little bargaining chip that he can use to get what he really wants...whatever that is.

However, the House Freshman, and veteran pro-life House Members (Franks, Bachmann, Smith, Lewis, Pence, etc.) could follow God, their consciences, and justice for the babies rather than following John Boehner down and path of compromise with child killers and those who protect sexual crimes against minors..

Open Letter to Pro-Life Leader and Advocates:
Now that the House Leaders are Poised to Betray us...
A Proposal for Defunding Planned Parenthood...
This "Criminal Syndicate"

On February 23, six courageous pro-life advocates – Ed Faddoul, Joan McKee, Gary Boislcair, Andrew Beacham, David Lewis, and Alan Mercado – were arrested for staging a peaceful “sit-in” outside House Speaker John Boehner’s office. God bless them for bringing national press coverage – by virtue of their sacrificial actions – to this life and death debate.

The purpose was to warn pro-lifers that the House could cave in to the Senate – and thereby betray the babies, and their pro-life constituents – and restore funding to Planned Parenthood. (See video of press conference below.)

Unfortunately, the L.A. Times has reported that pro-lifers have already been betrayed; Planned Parenthood has had its money restored in the 2-week continuing resolution. On Friday, February 25, the House Leaders cut a deal with the Senate to restore P.P.s funding in this short-term budget fix. Boehner confirmed this on Sunday, February 27, at the NRB convention in Nashville.

Where Do We Go From Here to
Defund Planned Parenthood?

I urge my fellow pro-life leaders, heads of ministries, and individual pro-lifers to take decisive actions to defund Planned Parenthood at this critical moment. I humbly submit that the following immediate steps of action:

 1)   Contact Speaker Boehner’s office at 202-224-3121, and express you displeasure that funding for Planned Parenthood is being restored in this short term Continuing Resolution. Demand of him that he take away their funding, as he indicated he would.

2)   Call your House Member at 202-224-3121, and insist that he vote against the Continuing Resolution if Planned Parenthood funding is present.

3)   Hold a peaceful demonstration and press conference this week in front of your House Member’s and/or Senators’ office(s) in your area. This is a VERY BIG issue right now; if you hold a demonstration – even with 3 or 4 people – you will likely get a lot of media coverage, and reach multitudes with your message. Please note: most members of Congress do not like bad press. They may not read emails, but they do read their local newspapers. I urge you to go to your Members home office sometime this week, and hold a demonstration and press conference. Please…we have a duty to be bold and courageous in this critical moment. They need to know their will be a political price to pay if they cave in at this historic moment.

Is Planned Parenthood a Criminal Syndicate?

Given the facts, it is arguable that Planned Parenthood is a criminal syndicate. Besides being the nations largest killer of unborn babies – which is by far their worst crime (they slaughtered over 300,000 babies last year – I believe they are in a criminal conspiracy to cover up sexual crimes committed against minors. Let me make my case.

Every time a pregnant minor girl walks into a Planned Parenthood, that child is the victim of a sexual offense. She is a living, breathing crime scene. She is either the victim of statutory rape, or worse.

By law, Planned Parenthood is required to tell police authorities of these crimes. But, as has been proven over and over again - by the courageous undercover work of Lila Rose, Mark Crutcher and others - Planned Parenthood refuses to obey the law. They are knowingly aiding and abetting sexual crimes against minors. At that point, they become an “accessory after the fact.”

Think about it: if you or I learned (after the crime was committed) that someone had committed a murder, or a robbery, or a rape – and then we knowingly helped cover it up – we would be “accessories after the fact.” We would literally be committing a crime, punishable in a criminal court of law.

Every time Planned Parenthood helps a child molester, or a pimp, or an adult male man having sex with a minor cover their crimes by killing the baby – and does not contact the police – they have become accessories after the fact.

In that light, I have a rhetorical suggestion to make to all my fellow pro-life leaders and activists; from henceforth until the day that Planned Parenthood is closed down for good – and many of its employees are tried for conspiring to protect sexual crimes – we should refer to them as a “criminal syndicate.”

Such a declaration is the truth; and politically, it puts people like John Boehner and Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the position of having to explain their support (financially and ethically) for an organization that kills over 300,000 babies a year by abortion, and by the tens of thousands of times per year, is knowingly covering up sexual crimes against minors.

To support Planned Parenthood – knowing the evidence of their murderous and illegal deeds – shows a corruption of mind and deed that is unfathomable. 

In closing, I beg you – in the presence of God, the Church triumphant, and in the presence of the millions of babies’ souls that have been dispatched by an abortionists’ knife at a Planned Parenthood killing center – contact the pro-life leaders in the House; Chris Smith, Trent Franks, Michelle Bachmann, Steven King, and Mike Pence; urge them to form a coalition to vote against the continuing resolution until funding for Planned Parenthood is removed.

The pro-life caucus of the House must put the babies ahead of the wishes of the leadership. They must demand that Planned Parenthood – this “criminal syndicate” – is fully defunded once and for all. Once that is accomplished, perhaps we can talk about special House investigative hearings, and prosecutions.
