Political correctness (usually called “PC”) is one of the greatest dangers to any government, society, or ecclesial community. Under the sway of PC, appeasement and a twisted form of “tolerance” replace moral constraint, the law, and even a culture’s ability to apply common sense to resolve problems.
When California Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 1172 into law, he boasted that change therapy for people wanting to overcome homosexual tendencies “will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery.” That official statement was the very epitome of PC in action!
California’s new law requires minors to receive, and counselors to provide, only one view on same-sex attractions…even when the client does not want to act on those attractions! In just nine days, I will enter a federal courtroom in San Francisco to face California state attorneys over this Orwellian law.
