Senators Harry Reid (D-NV) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) convinced former Senator Bob Kerrey to move from New York City to run for the open U.S. Senate seat in Nebraska. Kerrey won the Democratic nomination and now faces conservative Deb Fischer, who won one of the most impressive, come-from-behind Republican primary victories of the year.
Kerrey has been running a typical liberal campaign focused on ideological differences with Fischer. But last week, he abandoned that strategy and began to play dirty -- a decision that proves he's no different than other liberal politicians who will do anything to win.
Kerrey's October surprise involves a property dispute Deb Fischer had with her neighbors in 1995. Kerrey is now running TV ads accusing Fischer of trying to steal land from her neighbors, which is completely untrue.
