Two U.S. Border Patrol agents were shot, one fatally, Tuesday morning in an area in south Arizona known as a major drug-smuggling corridor, authorities said.
The identities of the agents were not immediately released, but the shooting occurred at the Brian Terry Station near Naco, Ariz., which is just south of Tucson. The station was named after an agent who was killed in the line of duty in December 2010. The area is considered a remote part of the state and sources tell Fox News that the shooting occurred at 1:50 a.m. local time and about 8 miles from the border.
"This shooting is a tragic reminder of the dangers the brave men and women who guard our borders face every day."
- Rep. Darrell Issa
The agents who were shot were on patrol with a third agent, who was not harmed, according to George McCubbin, president of the National Border Patrol Council, a union representing about 17,000 border patrol agents. The agents were on horseback at the time of the shooting.

DHS IS BOUND AND DETERMINED TO SUBVERT U.S. CONSTITUTION

50 FED AGENTS TO REPLACE SHERIFF JOE’S OFFICERS

The Homeland Security Department will use 50 immigration agents to screen Maricopa County, Arizona jail inmates after revoking Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s authority to access its systems. The agents will “screen, identify, apprehend and remove criminal aliens” found in Maricopa County jails following the Justice Department investigation that concluded Arpaio’s office engaged in civil rights and constitutional violations and discriminated against Latinos.

DHS IS MORE INTERESTED IN PROTECTING ILLEGAL ALIENS THAN U.S. CITIZENS

DHS GROUP WANTS TO STOP JAILING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN TRAFFIC CASES

A group charged with reviewing the Department of Homeland Security’s Secure Communities program wants federal officials to only use the program to identify serious criminals and not illegal immigrants accused only of minor traffic offenses. The group also recommends that DHS officials clarify goals and objectives of the program to local jurisdiction and that crime and domestic victims and witnesses not be subject to enforcement actions.
