For the third week running, the Republican address focuses on protecting millions of student-loan borrowers from an interest rate hike that is now just days from taking effect. Delivering the address is Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Education & the Workforce Committee and the author of House-passed legislation that stops this rate hike and provides long-term stability to students and their families. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats have failed to take action on this or any other solution, leading Chairman Kline to say, “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say they are content to let rates double.” The address closes with Chairman Kline urging President Obama to lead and persuade members of his party to do the right thing for students and their families.

Paying for college? Republicans want to make it easier, fairer, & more predictable.
Interest rates on student loans are about to double on July 1. Why? Because some politicians thought it’d be great if they were the ones setting interest rates, so “the whims of Congress” determine how much student loans cost – and they’re getting more expensive.
To change that, Republicans passed the Smarter Solutions for Students Act. The bill “echoes a plan” by President Obama to tie loans to a market-based rate and get politicians out of the student loan business.

TELL BOEHNER - "NEVER BELIEVE A DEMOCRAT VOICING PROMISES!" NEVER!!!
In case you haven't heard, they're going to give Barack Obama the authority to spend even more money that we don't have TODAY, in exchange for a phony promise from Harry Reid that he'll relinquish his pay WHEN he doesn't keep his word and propose a fiscally sane budget THREE MONTHS FROM NOW.
Enough is enough. Enough with the cheap political theatrics and stunts Mr. Boehner; if you're serious about avoiding the pending bankruptcy of this great nation, then cut up Barack Obama's credit cards TODAY... not three months from now. The solution to out-of-control spending is simple Mr. Boehner... stop the spending by REFUSING TO RAISE THE DEBT CEILING... PERIOD.
That's the message that needs to sent and there's not a moment to lose because John Boehner and our Republican-Leaders-In-Name-Only are planning to call a quickie-vote on their idiot PR-stunt in a matter of days.
