VA Bill to Become Law

  • Senator Rubio, along with Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and U.S. Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL), applauded the House of Representatives’ passage of their legislation to name the new Clay County Veterans Affairs Clinic, in Middleburg, Florida, the “Andrew K. Baker Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic.” 

Rubio Statement on Biden-Xi Meeting

  • Senator Rubio issued a statement following President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping. 

Letters

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) sent a letter to Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young requesting an expedited compilation and submission to Congress of the disaster assistance figures related to Hurricanes Fiona, Ian, and Nicole. 

  • Senator Rubio and U.S. Representative Jenniffer González-Colón (R-PR) sent a letter to Sethuraman Panchanathan, Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF), requesting the agency properly manages Puerto Rico’s Arecibo Observatory. 

Legislation 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) introduced the HANDS Act to empower civil institutions, such as nonprofit organizations and churches, to better meet child welfare needs in the communities they serve. 

  • Senator Rubio and his Republican colleagues introduced a bill to eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer position within the Department of Defense as part of an effort to restore focus and competence to the U.S. military. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) introduced a bill to curb illicit gold mining in Latin American and developing countries. 

  • Senator Rubio, along with Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), introduced a bill to ban members of the Chinese Communist Party from obtaining extended stay visas to the United States.
