Last year’s Congressional App Challenge winners, twin sisters Surabhi and Sandhya Kumar, have been named valedictorians for Chiles High School’s graduating class of 2022. This is the first time in Chiles High School history that two students share the “valedictorian” title. I had the pleasure of meeting these two young ladies last year. A 9-year-old girl in Marianna is one of the American Heart Association’s top 15 kid fundraisers in the southeast. Heart Association officials went to Lyla Swearingen’s school to present her with an award for all of her achievements. Swearingen is being named the 2022 Top Fundraiser for the American Heart Association’s kids heart challenge. This year alone, she raised more than $5,000 for the organization. Read more here. |
When 16-year-old Adrienne Bunn was first diagnosed with autism at 4-years-old, animals and sports became her two biggest motivators to help improve her speech, social skills, and focus. Adrienne has now combined her love for swimming, cycling, and running, as she was the first woman to join the state’s Special Olympics pilot triathlon program in 2018. Read more here. |
