THE INSENSITIVITY AND
DECEITFULNESS OF IT ALL
BY E. P. UNUM
June 2, 2021
Years ago I enjoyed watching and listening to Charles Kuralt who had a TV Program, usually a part of 60 minutes, that captured his travels woven into a story. It always resonated with me. Then, sometime in the 1990’s I sat in an audience in New Orleans, LA. and listened to him give a talk to a group of financial executives. He began his presentation with these words which I happened to write down verbatim:
“As I peer through the invisible corridor to the future, I can see clearly the fickle footprint of the hand of fate”
Silence engulfed the audience and I had to catch myself lest I laugh too loudly. But I noticed the puzzled looks on the faces of several people who stopped eating and drinking, quizzically looking around trying to be sure they had not missed something.
It was vintage Charles Kuralt. Of course, you can’t “peer down the invisible corridor of the future” and indeed there is no such thing as the “fickle footprint of the hand of fate”…but for some bewildered souls they just weren’t sure! Maybe they missed something….
It’s the kind of sinking feeling I get these days every time I try to listen to President Biden. I believe Joe Biden thinks he is really touching our hearts and souls with his somber rhetoric but in fact, almost every time he steps to the microphone he dwells on days gone by to resurrect stories of what was wrong in America rather than focusing on what was right and what we have achieved in the last 250 years.
His speech in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week about a tragic massacre 100 years ago opened more wounds unnecessarily and did little to bring us together which we so desperately need. More than that, his remarks were akin to pouring gasoline on a fire, and they were uttered intentionally and with a deceitful purpose to keep Americans focused on racism and class warfare.
Can you believe the President of the United States actually said that “terrorist white supremacy is the most lethal threat to our Homeland”? That is about the most ignorant, insensitive, and deceitful comment I have ever heard from any leader of our country. Has he suddenly forgotten 9-11? ISIS or al Qaeda? But I am not at all surprised because, regrettably, I believe the man is not in complete control of his faculties.
I wonder if our newly minted Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorcas heard the screams of that five-year-old boy left on his own at the border yesterday? Isn’t Secretary Mayorcas the one who keeps saying that the “border is closed”? If it is closed, how is it that 17,000 unaccompanied children came across illegally in April and 13,000 in March? And while our Border Patrols are rounding up these migrants and children, the drug cartels are having a field day easily smuggling drugs across into the United States.
Secretary Mayorcas comes from Cuba and Cubans know first-hand what it is to live and work under oppressive Communist regimes like Castro. How is it that the Secretary continues to lie and mislead the American people about the flood of humanity coming to the United States, some of whom are known terrorists from places like Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, China, and Russia? How is any of this good for America?
Has anyone seen or heard from the Special Prosecutor John Durham lately? I sure would like to know what he has uncovered to bring closure to another sad and deceitful period in our history…the Russia Hoax and the Spying on a Presidential Candidate, President-Elect, and President of the United States. And, Clinton, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Strzok, and others have paid no price for their attempted coups d’etat.
With each passing day, I become more agitated about why it is Republicans do not demand answers to the treasure trove of emails, photos, and videos that keep surfacing from Hunter Biden’s laptop. It is a fact that President Biden lied when he said he “knows nothing about Hunter’s business affairs” since there is a photo of Hunter, a shady Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh businessmen along with then Vice President Biden at a famous Washington D.C. restaurant, Café Milano, on April 16, 2015. And of course, Hunter flew to China with his father on Air Force II and walked away with $1.5 Billion in “investment funds” for a business he was involved in along with Chinese Communists. I guess I am supposed to believe that on that long flight to China, Hunter said absolutely nothing to his father about why he was accompanying him on a State visit to China! And, in that same vein, why was Hunter hobnobbing around with the corrupt Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, the husband of Russian billionaire Yelena Baturnia, who wired $3.5 million to one of Hunter Biden’s companies? I guess I am expected to believe all this was because they genuinely liked Hunter Biden who reminds me of Virgil Solozzo in the Godfather!
And where have you gone Tony Bobulinsky? Remember him? The former Naval Officer who clearly and with conviction identified Joe Biden as the “Big Guy” who was to have a 10% stake in Hunter Biden’s Company with ties to the Chinese Communist Party. How can a man maintain independence if he is beholden to a nation like China seeking to overtake us?
And, given all this, how can we expect Joe Biden to represent America? The man is compromised seven ways to Sunday. And, so is the rest of his family. If one of Trump’s children pulled this kind of stuff, you can bet there would be calls for impeachment hearings, arrests, or raids on Trump homes. But since Biden is a democrat and feeble-minded, the media gives him a pass. Are you sick of the lies and the deceit yet?
The same holds true for Critical Race Theory (CRT) and how our universities, secondary and elementary schools have abandoned our children and embarked on a pattern of indoctrination rather than education. Our schools and institutions of Higher learning have caved into leftist ideology and Marxist/Communist dogma, teaching our children to hate people who are white and reinforcing the doctrine of class warfare.
If America is systemically racist, as people on the left loudly state, why didn’t we deal with this when Barack Hussein Obama was President and Joe Biden was Vice President? Where were they then? Where was Biden during his 47 years in government?
Biden talks of the KKK as a stain on America, yet his closest friend in Congress was Senator Robert Byrd who was the Grand Cyclops of the KKK! You can’t make this stuff up!
So, what can we do, you ask? Well, for starters, we can stand up and let our voices be heard. The citizens of this nation pay the salaries of our teachers, not unions and not the government. Let them know that we want American history and civics taught in our schools, not the 1619 Project or CRT. Let the teacher’s union know that the words of Martin Luther King still ring true, "People should be judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin” and we demand a fair system of meritocracy to be embraced at all levels of education.
And, while we are at it, let’s put an end to this notion that boys who feel like girls can compete against girls in sports. It is idiotic and unnatural. Let all the lib-tards shout and scream and march all day waving their placards, but do the right thing and make sure girls compete against girls and boys compete against boys. Then set the tone in our schools that if boys who feel like girls decide to go into the girls' locker rooms, they will get a swift kick in the ass and thrown out. Word will spread fast enough to set things right.
And, while we are at it, raise your voices loudly to demand that Biden and the democrats abandon their reckless, frivolous spending along with Biden’s destructive decisions to eviscerate America’s energy independence achieved under President Trump. That means restarting the Keystone XL Pipeline, reinitiating Alaskan Oil Exploration, and exploring the Bakken Fields in the Dakotas.
Biden's flooding the economy with money from the Federal Reserve is not stimulating the economy. It is fueling inflation and that, in combination with his foolish expansion of supplemental unemployment payments, has delayed workers getting back to work. That is why production is down and prices are rising. Today, we have 8.2 million job openings and 10.0 million unemployed, many refusing to go back to work because they make more sitting at home thanks to the Biden Supplemental Unemployment Insurance.
The result has been a shortage of truckers and rising prices of beef, chicken, and other staples as well as gasoline which is now more than $1.00 per gallon more expensive than it was in January. Maybe in twenty or thirty years, we can explore electric cars, busses, trucks, and planes, but not now.
We have far too many more important challenges to deal with and we need serious, intelligent people to deal with them. Fear-mongering and wistful utopia thinking is a luxury we cannot afford today, literally and figuratively. Stop trying to “peer down the invisible corridor of the future searching for the fickle footprint of the hand of fate”
Isn’t it amazing how suddenly we are learning that the Wuhan Virus might actually be the result of a lab leak and not the result of a bat mutation? Fascinating how the intelligence is suddenly surfacing on this, now that President Trump is out of office. Remember when President Trump said the virus likely came from the Wuhan China lab leak, all the media twits exclaimed another fake Trump conspiracy theory? But, the evidence is pretty compelling as is the flip-flopping of America’s Doctor Anthony Fauci saying “we have little to worry about from this virus” then “masks do not work”, then “you need to wear two masks” then “children need to wear masks when playing outside”. And then there is the $3.5 million in funding provided by Dr. Fauci and the NIH for the Wuhan Lab, where coronavirus work was going on with the participation of the Chinese Military. The central question is “Why would the United States Taxpayer (you and I) provide any money to China to do any such research?” The lies, the deceit, the lack of respect for We the People are mind-numbing.
It is time to take back our country. If you sit at home and do nothing you will find everything you have worked for your entire life taken away from you. Apathy will lead to your demise and that of our nation. The wealthy will survive; some will even prosper. But for each of us…the people…we will be sacrificed on the anthill of history.
If you are content to read this and not do anything, that is your choice. I have ten grandchildren, and I want something better for them. And for you.
Let your voices be heard.
