Dear Friend, This week, Congresswoman Rashida Talib tweeted: “No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.” While Democrats in Congress have been pushing to defund the police for some time now, I believe it is dangerous for anyone to suggest that funding for law enforcement should be reduce, let alone that there should be no police, period.
I want to know what you think.
Our law enforcement officers were instrumental in supporting families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. I believe we all understand that our communities are safer because of their service. These calls to defund and dismantle law enforcement are ludicrous. While justice reform is a serious issue that deserves everyone’s attention, putting an end to law and order by getting rid of law enforcement is not the answer.
I value your opinion. Will you please take a moment to answer these two questions?
By participating in this survey, you agree to receive additional communications from Congressman Dunn's office. Sincerely,
Neal Dunn Member of Congress
