The First take: We don't get it. Vaccinations are growing daily -- nearly 3 million people a day is the average. So, why is President Biden sounding the alarm and warning governors to consider reinstating mask mandates and other limitations seen during the early days of the pandemic? Is there a plan to impose the Biden admin's "equity" ideals on states? We would not be surprised to see the federal government attempt to hold back states that did well during the pandemic in order to let failures like CA, NY, NJ, PA and others "catch up" because, you know, fairness.

Here comes the next $3T in spending, followed by $3T in taxes

Headline: Biden aims for summer approval of more than $3 trillion infrastructure package

The First take: Timing is everything. While President Biden will unveil some of his expected $3 trillion infrastructure spending bill on Wednesday, he doesn't intend to push it through until the summer. Why? Adding another $3 trillion in spending will also trigger another $3 trillion in taxes. It's likely the administration believes "herd immunity" will be here and the country could be coming out of lockdown. You need some good news before you hit people with a massive new tax bill. Williams' eye-witness account of George Floyd's final moments were filled with emotional and dramatic language that will likely be challenged. We expect more drama and possibly even sparks to fly between the prosecutor and defense attorneys.
