On Monday, Project Veritas released bombshell photos from within a migrant detention facility in Donna, Texas.
A Brave Insider provided Project Veritas with these images which show illegal immigrants, many of whom we are told are minors, wrapped in space blankets on the floor and enclosed in tight spaces:
The story caught fire around the world, to the point where the Biden administration could no longer ignore it.
Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary, issued the following statement during Monday’s press conference:
"I will say that these photos show what we’ve long been saying, which is that these Border Patrol facilities are not places made for children. They are not places that we want children to be staying for an extended period of time... Our focus now is on solutions and putting in place policies including expediting processing at the border, opening up additional facilities, something that you’ve seen developments on over the past several days, and there’ll be certainly more on."
Oh really, Jen?
Why did it take Project Veritas’ journalism for the Biden administration to start taking action? Why are you banning journalists from visiting these facilities in the first place? Why did Project Veritas have to do YOUR JOB?
The White House wasn’t the only governmental body to respond to Project Veritas’ images. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) also commented on the chaos of the situation:
"CBP continues to transfer unaccompanied minors to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as quickly and efficiently as possible after they are apprehended on the Southwest Border."
Why are children being sent to HHS? Is their health at risk by being in CBP custody?
Remember, the Brave Insider who provided these images and intel to Project Veritas alerted us that over 50 migrants had recently tested positive for COVID-19 and that violent assaults were commonplace in the facility.
"In order to protect the health and safety of our workforce and those in our care we continue to discourage external visitors in our facilities; however, CBP is working to balance the need for public transparency and accountability."
Is this why CBP officers kicked us off the property at the detention facility? Or is it because they have something to hide?
Many questions still remain unanswered, CBP.
This is only the beginning of Project Veritas’ mission to expose corruption at the southern border.
