Help Save Maryland - More Illegal Alien Legislation Pushed in Annapolis! - Please Help Stop These Unjust & Costly Proposals
Hearings in Annapolis - Tuesday, February 8 (Submit Statement Friday 10AM-3PM)
We need your immediate help in submitting a statement and/or testimony for two hearings before our lawless legislators on illegal immigration:
1- SB85 - Create a Governor's Office of Immigrant Affairs - Office would establish neighborhood-based "opportunity centers" across the Maryland to provide immigration services for illegal aliens (and legal immigrants). The Office would coordinate with other state agencies to use taxpayer-funded state resources to serve the needs of these "immigrants".
Why the heck do we need this costly Office? Legal Immigrants can take care of their own affairs just like citizens. Illegal aliens in Maryland should turn themselves in at the Baltimore Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. We already pay for that office, so lets utilize it more often.

Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs - Chaired by Senator Paul Pinsky
SB 85 - Governor's Office of Immigrant Affairs
- Establishes a Governor's Office of Immigrant Affairs
- Office headed by a director appointed by the Governor
- The office will establish a "network of neighborhood-based opportunity centers" that provide immigration services to illegal and legal aliens.
- The office will assist illegal and legal aliens with matters relating to immigration status which includes helping DACA individuals with their applications.
- It will assist law enforcement officers to combat crimes against "immigrants."
- It will coordinate with other state agencies to use state resources to serve the needs of illegal and legal aliens.
- It will encourage and assist local governments in the development of activities that enhance "immigrant" civil engagement.
- The director will be required to submit a yearly report on its activities.
Talking Points Opposing SB 85
- Maryland instituting policies to direct resources to illegal aliens will become a magnet for more illegal immigration which results in higher costs of living, reduced job availability, lower wages, overcrowded public schools and higher crime rates.
- This will shift the costs of illegal immigration onto Maryland citizens.
- Services like the ones in the Governor's Office of Immigrant Affairs are generally unavailable to citizens in the state and providing them to illegal aliens is unfair to citizens that must pay out of their own pockets. Illegals are not above the law.
- The COVID-19 pandemic has already strained state resources dramatically: Maryland cannot afford new offices and programs that do not directly benefit Marylanders.
HOW TO SUBMIT A STATEMENT AND/OR TESTIMONY
1. Start by creating a MyMGA account by going to this page.
2. Watch the short videos for my new MGA and witness signup.
3. Login to your MyMGA account during the Friday 10am to 3pm window and select 'Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee' in the committees tab. You should then see SB 85 in a list of bills. Check the box next to SB 85. Select 'unfavorable.' Select 'written' to offer written testimony. Or select 'both' if you want to give written testimony and enter the lottery for online oral testimony. You must upload your written testimony in pdf format. Click 'Save' when you are done to ensure that your testimony is uploaded.

Frederick County, Maryland
The Frederick County Council passed the unnecessary and controversial "Immigrant Affairs Commission" legislation. Immigrant meaning illegal alien. Fortunately, a majority of the Council decided to gut most of the the leftist nonsense originally included in the bill by Councilmember Jessica Fitzwater.
The final bill is a shell of its former self, and will be little more than an annoyance to the citizens of Frederick County over the next two years.
