Well they tried. Sniffing a slim possibility that Biden could win the Presidential election in November, more than three thousand illegal aliens (not migrants!) assembled and started marching north from Honduras. These illegals just love the Democrat's Party Platform of eliminating ICE and interior immigration enforcement, opening the southern border to any and all, and removing the quite effective Trump Border Walls.
These illegals want jobs, free social services/healthcare and a free education, and the Democrats are more than happy to allow them to have that trifecta in America! This despite the high unemployment rate for American citizens caused by the Wuhan Coronavirus and subsequent business shutdowns in mostly Democrat controlled cities and states.
But what these Central American illegals and their handlers did not plan for was President Trump's "Mobile Border Wall"! That's right. It's Mexico's migration officers combined with Army and National Guard Troops. They formed the Wall to stop this latest lawless caravan dead in its tracks.
One of the many successful deals President Trump has negotiated with Mexico. In this case, if illegals cross over in large numbers from Mexico unimpeded, Mexican exports will be subject to immediate tariffs upon entry into the U.S. Funny how that deal got the immediate attention of the Mexican Government.
But don't expect the illegals already sitting on the Mexican side of our Southern border to vanish. There are thousands sitting and waiting for the opportunity to rush the border if Trump loses in November and Biden opens the floodgates as promised. So they wait, cared for by U.S. left wing radical groups trying to increase their clientele numbers and overwhelm our social services and education system, and churches badly in need of parishioners.
Why the Border Wall Works
One interesting statistic published by the Washington Times quotes the Border Patrol describing Trump's border wall as a force multiplier. "One 12-mile section of new wall freed up 150 agents to be deployed elsewhere, or the equivalent of a $20 million return on investment each year going forward." These are agents who can now focus on other unfenced sectors of the border or interior enforcement activities.
Great to hear that a U.S. Government agency is acting like a business in terms of efficient resource allocation of our tax dollars.
"Trump administration sets record low cap of 15,000 refugees"
In other good news, the Trump Administration announced a record low annual cap for refugees entering the country, which started October 1. No shock here, except to the Open Borders crowd, as U.S. unemployment is still high because of the Wuhan coronavirus. Why would we let in more refugees or immigrants at a time when too many American families can't find jobs, pay their mortgages or feed their families.
Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) - How "Jewish" Is This Group?
One of the largest and loudest groups complaining about the Trump Administration's refugee cutback is of course the old Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society or HIAS. HIAS relies almost exclusively on funding from the federal government to support their questionable refugee hustle activities.
By their name, one would think they helped Hebrews (Jews) enter the U.S as immigrants, but that pipeline dried up a long time ago. My relatives coming in as legal immigrants from Eastern Europe probably utilized their services back in the late 1890s to early 1900s.
But instead of folding up shop and disappearing as an organization, HIAS now spends their days lobbying Congress and the Administration to bring in primarily Muslim refugees (of the likes of Congresswomen Ilhan Omar - D-MN/Somalia) at taxpayer expense. Strange that a Jewish organization would pride themselves on doing this?
Now news has surfaced over the questionable tactics and leadership of this full-time lobbying organization. Seems HIAS has a real credibility crisis. We have all heard of stories in the media of a number of people in prominent positions who told their peers and the outside world that they were Black, but were recently outed as White (by family members).
HIAS leadership now falls into the same general category of lies and mistruths.
Careful research has uncovered that the head of HIAS, Mark Hetfield, is Episcopalian and Catholic, not Jewish as advertised. I wonder if Hetfield's business partners at Islamic Relief Worldwide (Hamas) were in the know about this?
There is a very interesting statement on HIAS that was recently released by the President of the prominent Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). Hopefully this news on HIAS will put the final "stake in the heart" of this tax dollar sucking organization.
ZOA Urges HIAS-Stop Lying: HIAS CEO & Board Member Mark Hetfield Lied That "HIAS' Board is 100% Jewish" - But Hetfield Himself Isn't Jewish Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton A. Klein released on August 8, 2020 the following statement:
Following recent revelations that approximately over 99% of HIAS's current refugee clients are non-Jewish, and are largely Muslim, and that HIAS's acknowledged "partner" Islamic Relief is a Hamas-linked designated terror group, HIAS President Mark Joseph Hetfield tried to show that HIAS is still a "Jewish organization" and "the Global Jewish Refugee Agency", by stating in the L.A. Jewish Journal that "HIAS's board is 100% Jewish." (Also, HIAS has ceased calling itself the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society but now calls itself only HIAS.)
Painfully and regrettably, ZOA has just learned that Hetfield's statement that "HIAS's board is 100% Jewish" was a falsehood because Hetfield - who is a member of the HIAS Board as well as HIAS's president and CEO - is himself not Jewish.
It is important to note that the issue here is NOT that Hetfield is a Christian. ZOA has no problem with that whatsoever. The issue is that Hetfield is misleadingly implying, almost explicitly stating that he is a Jew, speaks for "Jewish values", and heads a "100% Jewish" organization.
ZOA recently learned that HIAS President Mark Joseph Hetfield is part Episcopalian Christian and part Catholic, and is not Jewish.
ZOA found numerous evidence that Mark Hetfield indeed is not Jewish. First, Mark Hetfield's parents, grandparents, and sibling are/were not Jewish. Other facts also evidence that Mark Hetfield is not Jewish. For instance: - Mark Hetfield does not directly call himself Jewish, even in contexts where it would be natural to do so if he was in fact Jewish. For instance, in an article entitled "What 'Send Them Back' Means To Jews," (Jewish Week, 2019), Hetfield merely describes himself as an "American." Hetfield does not call himself a Jew or a Jewish American - and never mentions his own experience - even when purporting to explain what certain phrases mean to Jews. The Jewish views and experiences mentioned in Hetfield's article are all the views and experiences of other people.
- Mark Hetfield's HIAS bio and speaker bios do not mention his family background, his religion, or his life prior to attending college.
Hetfield Says His "Great Mentor" was Priest Schall Who Blamed Jews "Conning" Romans to Crucify Jesus; - Mark Hetfield states, in a 2019 video for his alma mater Georgetown University SFS (School of Foreign Service), that a "great mentor" of his at Georgetown University was Father [James] Schall. Father Schall was a Jesuit Catholic priest who blamed Jews for "instigating" and "conning" Romans into crucifying Jesus. What Jewish boy chooses, and many decades later (last year) still praises as his "great mentor," a Jesuit priest, especially one who wrongly blamed Jews for deicide? Father Schall wrote:
"The Romans really did not want to be involved in this whole mess of what was an intra-Jewish squabble. They used crucifixion as the final deterrent, a death everyone knew was horrible. Avoid it at all costs! Yet, here they were - stuck with, conned into something that seemed to be against their own renowned law. The Crucifixion took place in Jerusalem under the procedure of Roman Law at the instigation of contemporary Jewish authorities. . . ."
Hetfield and HIAS Falsely States Islamic Relief, Who HIAS Works With, is an Apolitical Humanitarian Group;
Hetfield's "100% Jewish" falsehood was accompanied by Hetfield's false statement that HIAS's acknowledged "partner," Islamic Relief, is "a completely apolitical humanitarian organization." In fact, Islamic Relief's terror ties are well documented. Israel, the UAE, Bangladesh, several banks, and others designate Islamic Relief as a Hamas-and-Muslim Brotherhood-linked terror group/financier.
Hetfield Misleadingly Claims His Views are "Torah Exhortations";
The falsity of HIAS's and Hetfield's claims is important because, in the name of a Jewish organization, HIAS and Hetfield: (1) sued President Trump and sued Israel to try and stop Israel from deporting illegal African Eritreans (2) wrongly claim that it's a "Jewish value" to bring large numbers of likely anti-Semitic Middle Eastern refugees into the country whom bi-partisan experts agree cannot be vetted and pose a danger to Jews and Americans (see later explanation); (3) praised Jew-hater, BDS-promoter, terrorist-sympathizer and Israel-hater Ilhan Omar (who called Israel "evil" and demanded lower sentences for convicted ISIS terrorists) as "an inspiration to refugees around the world"; and (4) Hetfield signed a letter, along with leaders of radical hostile-to-Israel groups J Street, Bend the Arc, If Not Now, and others, defending and demanding an end to "maligning" infamous Israel-hating, Jew-hating, BDS-promoting Linda Sarsour, and pledging to "standing in solidarity" with Sarsour and to "working alongside her [Sarsour] for a more just and equal society."(Hetfield later alleged that he only defended Sarsour from alleged threats on her family, but the letter Hetfield signed said he looked forward to working alongside her, etc.) Sarsour recently proclaimed that Zionists are prohibited from joining her rally, calls throwing rocks at Israelis "the definition of courage," and stood with and praised Rasmea Odeh, a convicted murderer of Jews.
Hetfield also, in essence, demands that we admit into the U.S. what could very well be a new generation of Jew-hating Ilhan Omars - in the name of the Torah. In articles last month in both the JTA and the Jewish Exponent, Mark Hetfield rationalized his immigration views by saying "We are exhorted in the Torah." It is wrong for Mark Hetfield to thus mislead people into thinking he is a Jew, or that his views are Torah exhortations. In fact, admitting un-vettable refugees, from Mideast countries where the ADL Global 100 Antisemitism Index shows that 75% to 93% of the population is antisemitic, violates the over-arching Torah value of protecting our lives.
It's time for President Mark Hetfield and HIAS, the agency that resettles non-Jews (approximately 99% of them are not Jews), yet HIAS calls itself the "Global Jewish Refugee Agency" and the "Global Jewish Resettlement Agency," to apologize and stop making and implying claims that are false.

"Developers and HSM Director Donate to Nine Districts for MoCo"
I was given a recent copy of a Seventh State piece which mentioned a personal, not HSM, donation I made to the Nine Districts Ballot Initiative. How interesting.
Before I forget - My entire family, representing both Democrat and Republican, is voting "AGAINST" A & C (Both County Council Nonsense) and "FOR" B (Property Tax Freeze) & D (Nine Districts). Last time I checked, these MoCo politicians work for us the taxpayer, not the other way around.
As background, "Seventh State" (Maryland was the 7th State to ratify the Constitution) is a MoCo focused echo chamber blog operation for the Montgomery County Council (9 members) and the County Executive. The politicians leak and Mr. Pagnucco freshens it up and publishes it. It's a great gig if you can get it.
In deference to our Founding Fathers, the blog should really be called "The 11th Wheel" for their hand and glove cooperation with the MoCo Democrat leadership.
Anyway, the article highlights all the MoCo developers who donated $50K, $25K, $10K, etc. Wow, I am quite jealous. Then my name turned up - seems I personally donated $9 ( as in Nine dollars for 9 Districts)! My donation barely pays for a yard sign, how embarrassing. This is what you call "whiplash journalism" to get me involved in this pitiful story line. Think of driving in 4th gear at high speed, then quickly slamming the transmission back to 1st gear.
Pagnucco was looking for anything to save his Council members from the will of the MoCo voters come November. Clearly bringing back voter "term limited" Ike Leggett and forgotten RINO Connie Morella aint doing it.
We have lived in MoCo for over 35 years and know the County, the corrupt politicians and their blog bagmen (Maryland Matters included) well after all these years. I recently retired after a 40 year career with Uncle Sam, my children grew up here and we went through the entire MCPS and PTSA system. I coached girl's softball and little league, and served on the board of Rockville Baseball; was President of my HOA Board, President of the RMHS Booster Club and ran the annual Mulch sale; and was even the VP of the Cal Ripken Wood Bat Baseball League's "Rockville Express", among other past and current community oriented activities and groups. And I made personal donations to all along the way. Is that allowed Mr. Pagnucco? I still buy Mulch from RMHS students every year, is that ok? Now I have a question for Pagnucco. Where were you when over 300 citizens of MoCo attended a "standard fare" HSM rally last September outside the County Council building? A rally, in partnership with other local groups, to protest the dozen rapes of underage females (in just 3 months) by illegal alien criminals harbored in MoCo by our elected officials' sanctuary policy?
Why didn't Pagnucco write about Elrich's hateful and disgusting "we have an excellent rape counseling program for these young (14 and under) female victims" statement. Why didn't Pagnucco question a sanctuary policy where illegal alien rapists and criminals live in plain sight of MoCo county law enforcement, and why these same officers are not allowed to turn these known criminals and MS-13 gang members over to ICE?
Because Pagnucco's masters (can we still use that word?) did not give him permission to do so. Its that simple. Rumor has it that Pagnucco was coming to the HSM rally, but was instead spotted at the "All You Can Eat Pancakes" special at the Rockville IHOP. Nearly gave himself "whiplash" slamming the car brakes to make the IHOP entrance. Uncontrolled carbs and contrived hate against citizens you know little about are a bad combo big guy.

Prince William noncooperation policies threaten public safetyWASHINGTON - A new noncooperation policy by Prince William County, Virginia, has reversed years of public safety cooperation and threatens to endanger the public The new policy bars the Prince William County Jail from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when officers lodge immigration detainers for individuals in local custody who are in violation of immigration law. Per the policy, the jail can only notify ICE of an impending release for individuals booked in on felony charges. If an individual is charged with a misdemeanor, ICE will not be notified, regardless of whether they have other serious criminal history or if they have international criminal histories that are not visible to local law enforcement. "It is disappointing to see counties in Virginia, like Prince William County end their cooperation agreements with ICE, " said Tony Pham, senior official performing the duties of director. "ICE is committed to keeping our communities safe, and will continue to enforce our nation's immigration laws in every neighborhood, even those who refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement." "This deterioration of the relationship with Prince William County will certainly have public safety consequences for the people of the county," said Matthew Munroe, acting field office director for ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations Washington. "When law enforcement agencies work together, we put public safety first. Instead, like we've seen in Montgomery and Prince George counties in Maryland, when policies like this put politics first, it is a certainty that individuals who otherwise would have been safely transferred to ICE custody will be released to the street, in some cases reoffending. We've seen that the most likely victims of these offenses are those in the immigrant community." Prince Willian County previously worked closely with ICE through the 287(g) program. The program allows specially trained jail employees to serve immigration detainers to individuals who have been booked into the jail on local charges if they have established probable cause that they are in violation of immigration law. This allowed the safe transfer of individuals into ICE custody where they could be enrolled in immigration proceedings. Examples of cases where Prince William County cooperated with ICE which, under the new policy, will now result in the release of an individual include: - Jose Guillermo Castillo Garcia was arrested by the Prince William County Police Department on Dec. 14, for misdemeanor driving without a license and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Castillo, a citizen of El Salvador, is illegally present in the U.S. ICE previously removed him to his home country June 22, 2007 following previous convictions for felony forgery; felony driving while intoxicated, 3rd or subsequent offense; felony assault and battery of a police officer/firefighter; and felony eluding endanger persons or police car. On Jan. 16, a federal grand jury indicted Castillo for illegal reentry after removal, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. On March 5, Castillo pled guilty and was sentenced to ten months incarceration.
- Marvin Guzman Morales was arrested by the Prince William County Police Department on Aug. 26, 2019, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, 2nd offense and misdemeanor revoked license. Guzman, a citizen of El Salvador, is illegally present in the U.S. ICE previously removed him to his home country on June 27, 2003, Nov. 18, 2015 and June 15, 2018 following previous convictions for felony grand larceny, burglary 4th degree, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor violation of a protective order and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, 2nd offense. On Oct. 14, ICE arrested Guzman at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center and transferred him directly to U.S. Marshals Service custody. On Nov. 7, a federal grand jury indicted Guzman for illegal reentry after removal, a felony. On Dec. 19, a United States District Court Judge sentenced Guzman to 6 months imprisonment. On March 13, Guzman completed his period of incarceration and he was removed to his home country June 25.
- Jesus Jaaziel Zamora was arrested by the Prince William County Police Department on Aug. 31, 2019, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Zamora, a citizen of Mexico, is illegally present in the U.S. ICE previously removed him to his home country Nov. 10, 2015 and Sep. 21, 2016 following convictions for misdemeanor public intoxication, misdemeanor revoked driver's license, misdemeanor failure to stop on an accident, misdemeanor petit larceny, misdemeanor false identification to a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor obstruction of justice, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, and federal prosecution for misdemeanor illegal entry to the United States. On Nov. 13, a federal grand jury indicted Zamora for illegal reentry after removal, a felony. On Dec. 5, a United States District Court Judge sentenced him to 4 months imprisonment. On Jan. 14, ICE removed Zamora to his home country.
In addition to these cases from Prince William County, similar policies in neighboring jurisdictions have led to tragic outcomes, including a recent case in Baltimore where two individuals implicated in the murder of a 16-year-old girl had previously been the subject of ICE detainers that were not honored. About DetainersUnder federal law, ICE has the authority to lodge immigration detainers with law enforcement partners who have custody of individuals arrested on criminal charges and who ICE has probable cause to believe are removable aliens. The detainer form asks the other law enforcement agency to notify ICE in advance of release and to maintain custody of the alien for a brief period of time so that ICE can take custody of that person in a safe and secure setting upon release from that agency's custody. Yet, across the United States, several jurisdictions refuse to honor detainers and instead choose to willingly release criminal offenders back into their local communities where they are free to offend. Sanctuary Policies Put Public Safety at RiskWhen law enforcement agencies fail to honor immigration detainers and release a criminal alien onto the streets, it negatively impacts public safety. Any local jurisdiction thinking that refusing to cooperate with ICE will result in a decrease in local immigration enforcement is mistaken. Local jurisdictions that choose to not cooperate with ICE are likely to see an increase in ICE enforcement activity, as the agency has no choice but to conduct more at-large arrest operations. A consequence of ICE being forced to make more arrests on the streets, the agency is likely to encounter other unlawfully present foreign nationals who would not have been encountered had we been allowed to take custody of a criminal target within the confines of a local jail. Additionally, once these criminals are out on the street, confirming their whereabouts is often time consuming and resource intensive.
